Trainers Mizuno S.L. Contender

The Contender is a classic model, originally launched in 1995 and featuring design ideas from Rhiachi Mizuno, the founder of the brand. It was a lightweight model known for its stability and support, made for beginner-level runners looking for a shoe that offers good cushioning and is suitable for road or trail running. This new version combines the original Contender with a Cordura fabric and suede reinforcements for a sturdier build while maintaining optimal comfort. The midsole is made of moulded EVA foam with a single compression density, incorporating the Transpower technology from Mizuno, an ultra-responsive foam insert that absorbs shocks and enhances cushioning. For the outsole, we used a single piece of rubber and grooves on the forefoot for a smoother transition from heel to toe. The classic 90s look and the balanced way in which the Cordura mesh and suede elements are alternated create a unique blend of casual style and the sporty origins of this model.
