Product Description

Brembo Gran Turismo Big Brake Kits are complete, ready to fit, big brake kits suitable for high-performance road and track day use. They offer the highest level of braking for road and track day cars.Incredibly rigid calipers for minimal flexOversized discs for outstanding resistance to heat fadeHigh-performance Brembo brake padsOnce you've upgraded your cars original brake set-up as far as you can with the original sized calipers and discs, the next step is to upgrade the entire braking system with a Big Brake Kit. This incorporates a much bigger caliper, a larger brake disc, braided metal hoses, and brake pads specifically tailored to the application.Bigger calipers are important for two reasons. Firstly, they allow you to fit bigger discs and pads. More surface area means better braking and spreads the heat of braking out over a much bigger surface area. Brembo use aluminium calipers. Aluminium is a very rigid metal, and on many applications, the caliper is a monoblock for even more rigidity. This means the caliper stays almost perfectly rigid as you brake, applying force consistently to the disc. Bigger calipers mean more pad surface area. Calipers are available in a range of painted colours. The large discs resist heat build-up, disperse gases and clean the pads for better bite. Brembo brake kits will increase stopping power, reduce brake fade and have much greater tolerances to heat build-up. Brembo offers a choice of drilled and grooved discs.Grooves or holes both help built-up gas between the surface of the pad and the surface of the disc to escape.Drilled discs allow heat to escape much faster, but grooves offer better lifespan for road use. In some cases, the discs are two-piece floating for added resistance to warping with heat.Brembo tailor the pad compound to the application. The kind of pad you want for road use on a smaller or lighter car is quite different to what you will want on a big heavy GT car, and Brembo have selected them accordingly.Brembo also supply braided lines. These eliminate flexing in the brake hoses and ensure that when you put your foot down all of the force is transmitted to the brake discs.
