These new levers get the look and feel of the higher end 11-speed levers, while sticking with 10-speed internals. As well as the re-designed hood shape the shifters also feature neat under-tape cable routing instead of exiting from the side of lever like previous models. Like the more expensive groups the Tiagra levers provide a shorter shift stroke that delivers what Shimano calls ''lightest and easiest front shifting Shimano has ever made''. The lever is fully adjustable to accommodate different hand sizes via a 10mm screw-type reach adjustment. Braking isn't ignored of course, and the power and feel of the braking has been improved, especially when riding on the hoods. In conjunction with a new cable set, the whole setup is smooth and reliable.
