The Café Terrace on the Place du Forum

The first in the trilogy of paintings with starlit skies, The Café Terrace on the Place du Forum is one of Vincent Van Gogh's most famous paintings. Van Gogh was very enthusiastic about this café and wrote about it to his sister. He explained to her how much he enjoyed painting the cafe in the night rather than in the daylight. More than a century after, the Café is still serving drinks - it's now called Café Van Gogh and has remodelled to appear as it did at the time of the painting.
