Mesh Upper Constructed with a mesh upper, the Wave Inspire 22 is lightweight and breathable, with the sleek design and natural fit remaining. The shoes include a soft, padded tongue that has been carefully designed to provide a comfortable and snug fit while reducing chafing and irritation. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot for reduced in-shoe movement for distraction-free strides. Mizuno Nitrogen Infused ENERZY NXT Midsole The Inspire 22 has received an update to the midsole; the foam has been infused with Nitrogen, enhancing comfort and shock absorption. Mizuno ENERZY NXT is ultra-soft and responsive, providing a light and springy ride; however, this has been taken to the next level with the addition of Nitrogen. The foam is now even lighter than previous Enerzy midsoles, providing even more energy return, keeping you feeling fresher mile after mile as you strive for your best results. The midsole also features a Wave Plate, which prevents partial deformation and provides dynamic support to correct overpronation, guiding the foot forward to enable softer movements. Changing the inside and outside shapes helps stop the foot arch from collapsing and offers high stability. The anatomical plate shape follows the foot's shape for smooth weight transfer from ground contact to toe-off. Atop the midsole, a Premium Insock provides step-in comfort and is removable should you wish.
