Connecting the Leads: Attach the red lead to the positive (+) terminal of the donor vehicle’s battery and then to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery. Connect the black lead to the negative (-) terminal of the donor battery. Secure the other end of the black lead to a solid earthing point on the engine or chassis of the vehicle with the dead battery, avoiding proximity to the battery and fuel system. Starting Procedure: Wait three minutes for the voltages to equalise before starting either engine.Start the donor vehicle and let it run for one minute.
