Hyper Multi product codes have a suffix of two characters which have a different meaning: SD denotes dampened drive plates (Springs) SR denotes rigid drive plates (No springs) HD denotes high clamp load with dampened drive plates (Springs) HR denotes high clamp load with rigid drive plates (No Springs)Hyper Multi clutches with rigid drive plates are best used for high performance motorsports such as Time Attack or drag racing whereas Hyper Multi clutches with dampened drive plates are acceptable for high powered street / track day use.EXEDY has unique patented technology integrated into Hyper Multi plate clutches. The centre Plate self-levelling function always maintains the amount of disc travel during release in a neutral position and the patented clutch cushioning function expands the half engaged zone. Such technology allows for an efficient high performance clutch that is also easy to use.All Hyper Multi clutches come with a chromoly steel flywheel and forged aluminium clutch cover, which has no clamp load deflection as found in a pressed metal cover.
