Fyksesund majestic RIB Adventure from Øystese

This RIB safari takes you from Øystese into Fyksesund, the only fjord branch of the Hardangerfjord without road access all the way in. After leaving the harbour, we travel out into the main fjord before turning into Fyksesund — a narrow and dramatic fjord arm surrounded by steep mountains and waterfalls. As we move deeper into the fjord, the atmosphere becomes increasingly quiet and untouched. Your local skipper makes several slow-downs along the route, allowing time for photos and short stories about the landscape, fjord life, and the people who once lived here. During snowmelt and after rainfall, Fyksesund is at its most impressive, with countless waterfalls cascading down the mountainsides. We cruise close enough to feel the fresh spray from the falls. Near the end of the fjord, we stop outside Botnen, a historic and completely roadless hamlet that offers a rare insight into traditional fjord life.
