Quiet area, not many people about after hours so not sure about vehicle security. Ideal for visiting the icon Transporter Bridge, other nearby historical places and to view the Tees. Van drivers be warned, height restriction bar is not clearly visible in low light and suitable only for low rooved Transit styles. Tariff in images...
Car park charges are out of date, 3hrs was £1.60 now £1.90.
Has yet to be repaired. Nevertheless it's a stunning piece of engineering. Decades ago I crossed over using it, can't remember the toll fee. It's one of only three in the country and they're all needing repair.
The car park is currently free due to the Transporter Bridge being closed. It is a great place to park to see the Bridge.
Very convenient for the Transporter Bridge visitor centre and sbout 20 mins walk into town. Ticket machines s bit tricky
