Halifax

I have never ever come across a bank like this. Every time I come the systems are down or the counter not working. I have to always come back 2-3 times to get 1 job done. Really really bad service as you take time of work to be told they have a system error. I think must be the only bank I know that you have to return to 3 times to get 1 job done. They really need to upgrade their systems and provide a better service.

I went to this branch with a bunch of coins 1p and 2p coins which were in separate bags. The lad at the first desk said as long as they were separated then it would be fine. After waiting 10 minutes to be served, the lass at the counter said that my clear bags were not acceptable and had to be in these special bags and it had to be exactly £1 in each. I then had to go over to the desk and put the coins in these bags and wait again another 20 minutes. Communication needs to be better, the lad should have said "Can I see what bags you have the coins in and is it exactly £1". That would have saved me 30 minutes of my day.

They NEVER answer their phones at the Middlesbrough branch. They just let them ring out until it transfers itself to the call centre. Even the call centre can't get them by telephone (and they even emailed them). Sometimes it is necessary to SPEAK TO SOMEONE AT A SPECIFIC BRANCH. Only time you get someone on the line at this branch is just after 5pm when a cleaner answers it. Pathetic lazy people.

Friendly staff, always cozy and good atmosphere. Nice big branch, wait times are usually not that long.

Has been closed for several days now due to health and safety reasons. No further information on the Halifax web site. Staff are usually helpful and friendly but this is just not good enough!
