Its no surprise that this place has a high rate of 1 stars, given the attitude issue the delightful post office staff have. After trying to collect a parcel from these aggressively power mad individuals and still having no success this bunch of individuals continue to change the goal posts, both me and my mom tried to collect a parcel to be told I now need ID, So away i went and I brought bills, and a bank statement down to be told that I now require a bank care to prove rhat statement is mine, given I signed into my banking app and showed the delightful woman that theres only me who can sign into it... so away I went for a second time to be told I also now magically need a passport for the 3rd time. At this point it was clear the delightful old lady (blond hair glasses hates having to move from her seat) behind the counter recognised me and her aim was to wind me up, to see if she could get a raise out of me. Fortunately, for this dreadful type of individual she didn't. I then provided more information via mobile and enough evidence digitally, to the point this lovely lady refused and still wanted my bank card for the statement, and wanted my passport. Id looked, smiled, and said 'Return the item, your arrogance and poor nature won't ever pull me down to your sadistic level' You could see the anger in her eyes, I now no longer want this parcel or anything ever that comes through this 'What was once a nice post office' I then took myself for a walk around the nicer part of the shop (Whsmiths) to keep a close eye on her and watch and see if she treats everyone like this? Turns out she does it to select people. If your face fits with this said lady, you dont always need ID. And you don't always need to go back and forth. Given she 'knew' one person personally, she didn't even require ID. It seems she not only thrives of taunting people and seeing how far she can push people, but she cannot separate Business and friendships. This post office was once a nice safe, and pleasant place to be. Extremely sad and if it ever decided to shut down? Lets hope it removes the toxicity from its business.

Had the displeasure of attending the post office to carry out in branch verification, for an enhanced dbs. Manager and worker REFUSED official documents on the basis bank statements didn’t say “printed in branch” eventually the manager walked round to the bank to question this, to be told the bank don’t print anything of the sort and to accept my documents as they will only send me the same ones but in colour, went back to the post office for them to say, If the in post statements I get sent don’t say “printed in branch” which they got told wouldn’t. They might accept them for the paper quality! Attended a different post office who accepted my documents and got sorted. Don’t attend here bunch of jobs worth.

Poor communication of opening hours online. Gone two days in a row just to try to collect a parcel and the first day a rude WHSmith worker patronisingly told me it had closed at 4 and today I found out it closes at 2. No evidence of this online. Both days had incredibly long queues. Got to the Post Office an hour in advance the second day thinking it would be enough time but with only one member of staff working I was still unable to collect my parcel. Waste of time and terrible planning on WHSmith end. Find somewhere else unless you have a day spare to stand waiting!

Only ever have 2 staff working in probably the busiest post office in Teesside. I feel really sorry for the staff who actually work there(who are great) but when you have a massive queue you could be there for 30-40 minutes. They need recruit and get at least another 3-4 staff in there. Don’t use Covid as an excuse for not recruiting.
