Wow we were very lucky to win the Christmas draw recently .. the meal was amazing. Shout out for the belly pork and the rib eye steak. One of the nicest steaks we have eaten in a very long time. Perfectly cooked. All the cocktails were hand made too which makes a refreshing change and were definitely worth trying. Would definitely recommend both the food and the cocktails .

We'd been strolling along the river and onto the canal, then wammo. We hit this spot while the sun, drinks, and waterside seating hit mine. Awesome area to chill. Nice drinks and food looked goooood. Prices of grub topside so needs to be sweet. Didn't try. I was floating along and singing a song. Drop anchor and drop in, worth a look, Peeps.

Visited Sun 5 Oct 2025 at 1630. The lamb Sunday lunch was technically very good but the service let the experience down. It turned out they gave our food to a different table so we had a long wait and because they serve veg in a separate bowl we ended with one small bowl for 4 adults that came to table about 15mins after the main plate came out. Luckily they did bring the kids food out first after the long wait. Also, being my first time to come for food there, no one explained how food service works and the place just didn't seem like it was catered for food. More of an after thought. It more seemed like it was a pub for drinkers. So atmosphere for a drinkers pub was great but not for a restaurant food. Other things to note. We were placed next to a roaring fire when it wasn't actually that cold so kids were stripping down and we were sweating. We're sure we paid for 5 puddings but server said it was 4 (our bad as we should have asked for a receipt as they said to order pudding after main course but pay for it all up front). The 5th pudding was 2 scoops of ice cream for a kid so not going to argue but just another thing that wasn't right. Staff were friendly and I'm sure on another day when things align better the food would be great. Our friends highly recommended this place after several good experiences but just didnt hit the mark today. And for me it's not a cheap place so I was expecting a great experience (but I am a tight Yorkshire man so some might not agree that it's expensive).

Enjoyed my visit to the Navigation for the first time in many years.. Atmosphere was friendly and the place is pleasant enough.. Only negative was a lack of a pint of bitter... Clearly I'm getting to be past it ;-)
