Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting fantastic results with their hair. Post lockdown my hair was so long and unmanageable and my roots had grown out so much. I got a balayage and my hair cut to a medium length and I could not be happier! The staff are so friendly and welcoming so I felt very comfortable and in safe hands. The products they use are a top quality and it was all very reasonably priced. This will be my regular hair salon for a while!

I had a lovely haircut and colour with Paige this week. She thoroughly listened and understood what my plans were about my hair and had very good advice. My hair was very warm with reddish discolouration and she expertly blended blue and green pigments with Aveda hair dye to get rid of the warmth. My plan was simple, to get a full head hair colour (closest to my natural colour). We discussed how over next visits this would form a nice and healthy base if I went for ash highlights. Very pleased with the hair cut and blow dry as well. Thanks Paige!

I was booked in for what I believed to be partial highlights. This was three days before I was due to flight out for a holiday. This was the first time I have had any colour service and made the hairdresser aware. I asked for a few natural sunkissed pieces through the top of the hair, keeping my roots their natural colour, I also showed a photo. She got to work, and at the end of the appointment I was left with a chunk of harshly coloured hair at the front of my head, my roots were bleached (asked for these to be kept natural) and there was a strong harsh line between my natural dark hair and the coloured hair, with no coloured pieces towards the back of the hair, just one solid chunk. I did not realise this in the chair as it did not look this harsh, I paid in full went home and realised what had happened to my hair and called back asking for this to be fixed. I returned the following day, explaining what I was unhappy about, and tried to understand why I just had a chunk of colour around my face but none elsewhere, this is not what I asked for, I was told there was no time for colour to be blended and the best I was offered was semi permanent colour/toner to try and reduce the harshness of this front piece. I was told this may be due to a ‘miscommunication’, that todays ‘fixing’ would be free and I could book in for another full price service in a few weeks, she suggested a balayage. I do not understand why I would have to pay for another appointment to fix this error, when I already paid for something I am incredibly unhappy with. I am at a loss to understand why anyone would do this to someone’s hair. The cut was decent, and the stylist friendly, but I am very upset at what I was left with. I had to go home and place a box dye on my hair to try and rectify the problem and had to struggle on holiday with this messed up hair which many people have commented on. EDIT- I can’t reply to the salons response. This review WAS posted a year ago, for whatever reason it is just showing as submitted now, I assume that’s on the salons end for trying to delete it. Please see the new photo I have added to show a screenshot of when I actually posted it which was 23/06/23 I discussed with your staff what I wanted and THEY booked in the appointment. So I suggest some training for your staff if you would like to ensure clients are booked in for the correct service. On to the appointment itself, if what I was booked in for and what I asked for were two different things I should have been sent away. Not blamed for the stylist proceeding with bad work despite having a verbal consultation at the start of the appointment. X

My review isn’t concerning the standard of service, I’ve seen multiple stylists at S&S and I’ve always been pleased with the results. I am however hugely disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I had an appointment today for a kerastraight treatment which I’d had booked for 3 weeks. It’s not easy to find an appointment for this treatment given the length of time it takes. 25 minutes before my appointment, I received a call from the stylist advising me they couldn’t accommodate my appointment as the product hadn’t arrived. Sure, the day before I’d have been disappointed, but 25 minutes before is wholly unprofessional. It’s also not the first time they have cancelled my appointment at short notice without offering a suitable alternative. This time however, they have lost my custom, which is a shame as it’s a lovely salon!
