PGL Newby Wiske Hall

What an experience we all had! I cannot rave about how helpful and amazing all the staff are! Every member of staff was polite and helpful! Safety is their number one priority, followed by fun! Highly recommended for uniformed groups and schools! The food was filling and tasty. The shop was priced very well. The activities were matched perfectly to our age groups. The bedrooms were extremely clean, in fact everywhere is really clean and maintained.

I stayed here two months ago with my school,cottingley village primary school and it is brilliant!The food,activities,dorm room and gift shop was exciting and full-on.I forged friendships there that I never knew i would.The evening/night activities were fun especially when we played hide and seek in the dark,in pajamas in the massive forest with torches. It was boys vs girls and it was spectacular! The dorms had triple bunks and the LED lights were customisable. The food was delicious and there was an unlimited salad bar. There was also a drink machine with lemon and lime,mixed berry and iced peach.The gift shop was a proper shop with tills and stuff with so many good things-so remember your money if you are going I will be honest it was great except two activities:archery and orienteering.They were quite boring but other than that no complaints!Big thanks to all of the PGL staff who made this experience even better.

The accommodation for leaders is great. For the children, it is mainly bunks that are enclosed so could be claustrophobic. They are also tightly backed in, hot and there is no natural ventilation (the windows don't open in any bedroom). The other drawback to the rooms is a noisy extractor system that works 24/7. We found the food to be excellent. They were prepared to cater for dietary needs and food preferences. A very good selection of food and plenty of it. The activities were well supervised and the instructors explained the equipment, health ans safety aspects and how to best achieve the most from the activity at a level everyone could understand. The staff were all friendly, polite and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic stay.

Staff were so lovely, me and my school went great experience, it's well fun,beds were cool and comfy could do with another pillow not just one,shout out to Liam with the hello kitty socks great guy

this PGL site is one of the best sites in my whole enitre life better than a 5 star hotel abroad all the staff were absolutely amazing but the 1staff member called Naomi stood out and loved our school like no other helped us through everything and was the kindest person to help Hetton academy out lead and show us around and not to mention all the other staff where amazing to if you looking to go on a school residential or a weekend away with family and young ones I could 1000% recommend this site , to anyone there is a lot of stuff to do and families wouldn’t ever get bored! The food was beautiful need a recipe for some of the meals 🤣! thank you for everything Pgl members done for us as a school (Hetton academy) ❤️
