Welcome to Yorkshire
News • February 17th, 2025
|York Restaurant Week is back this March – but this time, it’s bigger and better than ever. Running from 10th to 23rd March 2025, this year’s event is doubling up, giving food lovers two full weeks to explore the city’s vibrant culinary scene.
Twice as long means twice as many chances to discover new favourite spots or revisit those you already love. And with over 100 venues participating, there’s plenty to dig into.

Why two weeks matters
Let’s be honest, one week never feels like enough when it comes to eating out – especially in a city like York, where you’re spoilt for choice. Whether you’re a student trying to stretch your budget or a family looking for a tasty treat without breaking the bank, this two-week special means more time to plan, book, and, most importantly, eat.
And the best bit? The prices. Every offer is between £5 and £30, making it easy for anyone to enjoy a meal out, no matter the budget. Fancy a quick burger and fries? Sorted. Dreaming of a fancy three-course dinner? Got that too.
Who’s In?
Some of York’s most loved spots are getting involved. Think Ambiente Tapas for those tasty small plates, the legendary Trembling Madness Lendal for craft beers and comfort food, and the ever-popular Fat Hippo for burgers that’ll leave you stuffed and happy. And that’s just the start.
More than 100 restaurants, cafes, and bars will be serving up deals, so there’s bound to be something that catches your eye (and your appetite).
How it works
It’s simple – head to www.yorkrestaurantweek.co.uk, browse the offers, and download as many free vouchers as you like. Seriously, there’s no limit. Want to eat out every night for two weeks? Go for it. Just remember – these deals are going to be popular, so booking ahead is a smart move.
A word from the organisers
Chris Bush, the Business Manager at York BID (the folks behind this whole thing), is buzzing about this year’s event. He said:
“Since its launch in 2019, York Restaurant Week has become one of the UK’s biggest events of its kind. The continued success reflects the vibrant food and drink scene here in York, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate this first-ever two-week special edition. With more time to explore, we hope even more people can take advantage of these fantastic deals and support York’s hospitality businesses.”
Breaking records (again)
Last October’s York Restaurant Week was a smash hit. Over 22,000 vouchers were downloaded, bringing in nearly £400,000 for local businesses. That’s a whopping 70% jump from the year before. Since it kicked off in 2019, the event has poured around £1.8 million into York’s hospitality industry. Not too shabby, right?
Why it matters
If you’ve ever worked in hospitality, you know how tough it can be – long hours, tight margins, and constant competition. Events like this give local businesses a well-deserved boost, bringing in new faces and filling tables during quieter times. And for diners, it’s a chance to try places you might usually walk past or save for a special occasion – but without the hefty price tag.
Don’t miss out
So, whether you’re a local foodie, a student looking for a cheap night out, or just someone who really loves a good meal, mark your calendar for 10th-23rd March 2025. York Restaurant Week is your excuse to eat your way around the city – twice over.
Hungry yet? Thought so.
