Welcome to Yorkshire

•Comedy, Politics, and… Sandwiches?
Holmfirth's favourite son, Kieran Hodgson, is back with a brand-new show, and this time, he’s taking on America—its voices, its politics, and its place in the world. The four-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee will bring Voice of America to Soho Theatre from 16th to 28th June 2025, with tickets on sale from 12th March (or if you’re keen, presale starts at 10am on 11th March).
This show is a bit of a shift for Hodgson. Known for his character-driven storytelling, he’s now dipping into political stand-up—though in his own unique way. Expect hilarious impressions, sharp observations, and an attempt to answer a big question: what does America really sound like?

From Trump Rallies to Taylor Swift Anthems
In Voice of America, Hodgson will explore the different voices that define the USA—whether it’s the chants of Trump rallies, the music of Taylor Swift, the energy of Pride Marches, or the chaos of January 6th. It's part comedy, part social commentary, all tied together with his signature wit.
The idea for the show actually started in 2021, when Hodgson landed a role in the Warner Bros. superhero blockbuster The Flash. He played the unforgettable “Sandwich Guy” in the opening scene—but there was one small problem. He had to sound American, and, as the producers kindly pointed out, he really, really didn’t.
So, can he master the voices of a whole nation? Can the accents of America still inspire hope? And, most importantly, will Sandwich Guy ever get his peanut butter and banana on a seeded roll in time?
A Comedy Star on the Rise
If you don’t already know Kieran Hodgson, you’ve probably seen or heard him somewhere. He’s been a regular on BBC One’s Two Doors Down, written and starred in Channel 4’s Prince Andrew The Musical, and even popped up in the hit mystery film See How They Run, alongside Saoirse Ronan, Sam Rockwell, and David Oyelowo.
His live shows have been huge hits too. From Lance to Maestro to Big in Scotland, he’s sold out venues across the UK and earned four Edinburgh Comedy Award nominations.
Yorkshire born and bred, he was educated at Holmfirth High School before going onto Greenhead College in Huddersfield.
