|The highly anticipated York Restaurant Week is back, bringing another opportunity for food enthusiasts to explore York’s vibrant culinary scene. Organised by The York Business Improvement District (York BID), the event will run from 14th to 20th October 2024.
With over 100 restaurants, bars, and cafes already signed up, diners can expect a wide range of special deals and exclusive menus, showcasing the best food and drink that York’s city centre has to offer.

A week dedicated to celebrating York's diverse food culture
York Restaurant Week has become a key highlight in the city's social calendar, providing residents and visitors alike with the chance to discover hidden gems and revisit local favourites. From international cuisine to British classics, the event offers a unique opportunity to sample an array of dishes at various price points.
This Autumn, the event will once again spotlight the diversity of York’s food scene, with businesses from every corner of the city centre getting involved. York BID’s Chris Bush, who coordinates the event, emphasized its importance, especially in the current economic climate:
"With the ever-increasing prices of food and drink, we’re delighted to be able to offer so many affordable ways to dine out while supporting York’s hospitality industry. There’s a huge variety of deals available, and it’s a great way to spend quality time with friends and family."
New participants and returning favourites
This edition of York Restaurant Week will see some new names joining the fold, offering diners the chance to explore exciting new culinary experiences. First-time participants include:
- Miller & Carter
- Poly's Kitchen
- The Savvy Baker
- Sky Blue Chinese Restaurant
- Hooting Owl Distillery
- Rio Brazilian Steakhouse
Returning to the event are a number of popular establishments that have become staples of York's food culture. Favourites like Pho, Ambiente, Plush Café, Ate O’Clock, and The Star Inn The City will be offering special deals once again. Fans of Coto Vietnamese Kitchen & Bar and Marzano Italian Grill will also be pleased to see their return, alongside many other local venues.
Great deals at every price point
One of the biggest draws of York Restaurant Week is the affordability of the event. Deals are available at six price points: £5, £10, £15, £20, £25, and £30, making it easy for diners to find offers that suit their budget. From casual coffee spots to more upscale dining experiences, there’s something for everyone.
Participating businesses will publish their special offers on the official website starting from Monday 30th September. Diners can access these offers by downloading free vouchers from the website. There's no limit to the number of vouchers a person can claim, allowing visitors to try as many deals as they wish throughout the week.
Booking early and checking the fine print
While the event is open to everyone, it’s recommended that diners book in advance where possible. Some venues may have specific terms and conditions attached to their offers, so it’s advisable to check these details before securing a reservation. With the popularity of York Restaurant Week increasing each year, many establishments are expected to fill up quickly.
To see all available offers and secure vouchers, diners should visit www.yorkrestaurantweek.co.uk. The website is updated regularly with the latest information on participating businesses, and the redesigned interface makes it easier than ever to navigate through the offers.

York Restaurant Week isn’t just a celebration for diners, but also an important initiative for the city’s hospitality sector. The York BID, which organises the event, plays a vital role in promoting and supporting local businesses, especially in light of ongoing challenges faced by the industry.
The BID works to enhance York’s city centre environment and ensure it remains a welcoming destination for both residents and visitors. By organising events like York Restaurant Week, they help to bolster the local economy while fostering community spirit.
