Came here for a Sunday lunch. Honestly one of the absolute best Sunday roast lunches we have ever had. Left absolutely stuffed. Starters of fried brie were tip top. Kids roasts were huge. £9 each and far more than a 7 year old and 5 year old could eat on their own. Great value. Adult roasts were just stunning. Pile of mash and swede, colossal Yorkshire and a big tray of vegetables to share between 2. Left stuffed and really pleased. Desserts were also good. Location great a few minutes walk from Redmire falls waterfalls and similar nice walks. Bill was £104 for 2 starters, 2 roasts, 2 kids roasts, 4 desserts and 8 drinks (4 alcoholic, 4 kids) which felt reasonable for the quality of food. Will be back again. Highly recommended.
This is a great village pub, with a lovely relaxed ambience. The staff were friendly as were the locals. They had Titanic Brewery, Plum Porter on tap and this was a beautiful pint. Next time we're over again, we'll be sure to visit.
An absolute gem with excellent food and service. Would not hesitate to reccomend. Didn't stay so can't rate the rooms. If they're as good as the food - book now!
Came here pretty much by accident but very pleased I did. Excellent food, good basic food cooked brilliantly. Menu fairly priced. Good range of ales. Staff very friendly and helpful too. Would recommend highly, especially the triple cooked chunky chips, very delish.
We visited the Village pub several times during our week long stay in Redmire. Both us and our dogs were always warmly greeted by the staff and made to feel welcome for the duration of our stay. I witnessed them go above and beyond to help a couple who accidentally got their booking wrong and turned up a week early. There was a large selection of cask ales, all of which has been excellently kept, at great prices, especially at happy hour on Friday night. The food was honest pub grub, although a little on the expensive side, but portions were generous. We found the full English breakfast served on Saturday and Sunday mornings to be excellent. Just be sure to get there before 10am, as this seems to be the cut of point despite the board outside advertising 11am and the website letting you book breakfast reservations for past 10am.
