Senior Metallurgist

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with one of our reputable manufacturing clients who have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Metallurgist to join their technical team. This long-established business produces specialist metal-based products for high-performance industries , and this role will play a key part in supporting product quality, process optimisation and ongoing technical development across the site. Reporting into the Technical Manager , this is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working closely with production and quality teams to drive improvements. The Senior Metallurgist role will include: • Supporting process optimisation and product improvement initiatives • Providing metallurgical expertise across production and quality teams • Investigating technical issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions • Assisting with customer technical queries and investigations where required • Supporting raw material qualification and technical change processes • Working closely with the lab, QA and Production teams to maintain high standards • Analysing technical data to support decision making and process improvements • Producing clear technical reports and documentation for internal stakeholders We're looking for a Senior Metallurgist with: • A degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related discipline • Strong experience in a metallurgical or materials-focused role within manufacturing • Knowledge of metals, alloys or complex manufacturing processes • Experience supporting process improvement and solving technical issues • Familiarity with quality tools such as RCA, 8D, 5 Why or FMEA • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem solving • The ability to collaborate effectively across production, quality and technical teams This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on technically , working closely with manufacturing teams and contributing to the continuous improvement of complex metallurgical processes.
