Evans Halshaw Citroen Rotherham

We recently had an outstanding experience with Evans Halshaw in Rotherham and the team there especially James Eaton, truly deserves the highest praise. If there were a rating higher than five stars, I'd give it! Their service was not just great; it was an "above and beyond great service" experience—the kind that makes you a customer for life. James was very knowledgeable and took us through the finance and car options in a very professional manner without any hard sell tactics. We would recommend them 100%, and the Citroen car we bought is first class as well.

I recently won my case with the Financial Ombudsman against Stellantis Financial Services after buying a car from Evans Halshaw Citroën Rotherham that developed serious mechanical faults. The problems started within 3 months of purchase and continued for over a year, leaving the car off the road and unusable for most of my ownership. Despite this, the dealership showed no care or accountability. Their Head of Business, Mr Phillip Rumney, wrongly claimed the faults were “wear and tear”, gave misinformation about mileage deductions, and showed a poor understanding of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I also paid for a warranty, which they refused to honour. I was spoken to disrespectfully, ignored for months, and had to arrange and pay for my own independent inspection, which ultimately disproved their claims. All of the above is concerning given his senior position within the business, and raises questions about his suitability for such a role. While the Financial Ombudsman upheld my complaint and ordered a refund, I will be taking the customer service and conduct issues to The Motor Ombudsman after the 8 week waiting period should they continue to ignore me. I would strongly advise avoiding Evans Halshaw Citroën Rotherham. Their lack of professionalism, customer care, and accountability is appalling. Should you choose to purchase from them and be won over by their smiles and enthusiasm, remember this: when the cracks start to appear, reject the car immediately. Don’t leave it too late or they’ll find a way to place the blame on you. I am very lucky that my persistence and understanding of my consumer rights was stronger than that of the Head of Business.

Great experience at the Rotherham branch, met Joe who was brilliant and accommodating when we was at the undecided stage of which new car to go for. We had one in mind and Joe managed to find a great deal and the exact car we was looking for. Thereafter it was plain sailing and Joe made the process really simple and pain free. Explained everything clearly and the efficiently and me and my wife came away really happy. Got the new car in less than a week. Top class service.
