Very rude nasty lady that works there. We go in almost every weekend, spend lots of money, donate and one of our favourite shops. All of the staff members I had previously spoken to are so caring and lovely, always speak to our kids and make kind conversations with us. Went in for our usual shop and was looking for Christmas presents for our kids, seen as though some people don't have the money to buy brand new. We always let our kids look and play with the toys while we shop, watching and staying close by. Again, never been an issue before. We prefer them to keep close to the toys so they aren't running around, breaking things, pulling clothes off hangers or climbing on furniture. As I was shopping I looked over to see my kids had taken a toy and starting pushing it away, as I walked up to them to tell them to put it back, a rude lady came barging over shouting at me over me apparently "abandoning" my kids, allowing them to make an "uncontrollable mess" and telling me that "AS A MOTHER" l need to "DO BETTER". How dare she! I tried to explain I only looked away for a second and was putting the toy back but she wouldn't even let me speak. Raising her voice at me and telling me I need to take care of my kids. We always make sure we put anything back that needs to and NEVER leave a mess. Mind you, me and my partner were also looking at the toys. She kept bombarding me saying im "putting my kids in danger" and she's fed up of "cleaning after them". Not true. There was no mess. If she had kindly come up and asked nicely if I could make sure my kids weren't moving all the toys around it'd be a completely different story. There was no patience. Instant storm up to me to yell in my face and criticise my parenting. We ended up instantly leaving and now I don't even feel comfortable going back. As someone who relies on these charity shops for my children and myself, it makes me sick to my stomach that there is no understanding or empathy. Kindness and patience is free. To no surprise of my own, I've come to make this review and I have read multiple more people complaining about one rude lady in particular and that I am not the only one whose dealt with this experience. I don't want a company "apology" I want something actually done and said that stops staff thinking they're entitled to be rude and insult people. If there was a problem with my children playing quietly it should have been mentioned earlier and with kindness. I have never written a review in my life, never mind a bad one. But this situation really left me disheartened and angry, as I said before every other staff member I have ever spoken to has been amazing! One in particular is so sweet and always so nice to my kids. Shame some people have forgotten what basic manners are.
Not very impressed. It's a big store, I've seen damaged & dirty furniture in there. A fair amount of furniture is very expensive for what it is which is pricing a lot of lower income customers out of the market.
Lovely charity shop, plenty of stock and a good variety , handy place to go if you are starting out in a house, some good bargains for people on a tight budget, staff are pleasant and helpful, when you consider they volunteer their time it's great.
Very bad experience with the people who comes to collect the furniture. They knocked the door once and the next minute they left the house with their vehicle. We have a small baby and so cant leave her alone hearing the bell. It just took only one minute to open the door. Too irresponsible and unprofessional people. Too bad to appoint such people who don’t even have the patience to work. We had to take leave as they said they only had slot today and now saying that they will come on Saturday. Where did the slot come from? Do they think since we give everything for free its of no value. 👎🏼 grow up
A well laid out store with nice items in good clean condition. The staff are helpful and friendly. I had the pleasure of using the delivery service for a sofa which was delivered by two cheerful people who took care of the sofa and ensured no damage to my house during the delivery. Would totally recommend.
