Holiday Inn Rotherham-Sheffield M1,JCT.33 by IHG

Visiting December 2025. Vegan family of 2 adults and 3 children. Have to say very impressed with the menu choices and clear outline of dietary information. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Always smiling and happy to help. We gave our waitress at dinner a little bit of a complicated order due to fussy kids and allergies and everything came to the table exactly as we asked all was fresh and delicious. It very refreshing to be able to eat out and have a variety of choices. The pool, spa and gym facilities are one of the reasons we chose the hotel and it’s unusual to go to a budget hotel and be able to have a sauna and jacuzzi so really pleased about that. The adults took it in turns to use the relaxing spa facilities while the other played with the kids in the pool. When we arrived at our family room we were all pleasantly suprsied at the size of it. There are 2 queen beds and 1 double sofa bed made up ready. A small dining table with 4 chairs and a smaller table with 2 chairs. Plenty of room for the whole family to move around and the children to play. The shower and bath gels and body lotion in the bathrooms are of a premium quality. The parking is easy and there is plenty of it. Just 10 minutes from Meadowhall where we took the children shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a close to Sheffield area. Very family friendly.

The staff are all extremely friendly and efficient. The food is good. Our only issue was the heating in the room, the wall heater was defunct, the air conditioner did not work correctly. These issues had obviously been noticed, but not addressed, as a small plug in electric heater had been supplied, which was not really big enough for the room. I think it’s time for some money to be invested to improve things in some areas.

Stayed for 1 night due to a Xmas party on site which was great. Twin room has a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, shampoo and shower gel, hangers in the wardrobe, TV, plenty of sockets well placed, no USB ports, tea and coffee and additional items are available for a fee. There is a bar and restaurant on site and food available. Facilities wise there is a gym, heated pool, steam room, jaccuzzi and sauna to enjoy. Water depth is to a maximum 1.4m and a shallower area of 0.6m in depth. Ladies lockers are well equipped with hairdryer, shower gel, lockers operated with a refundable coin and a free towel was available for hotel guests. No hair cap required in the pool. Water fountain found inside the pool and flavoured water and cups at the hotel lobby by the reception desk. There was plenty of parking available and check in was a quick process. Toilets on the second floor have hand-wash pumps as well as hand lotion. I would stay again.

Staff friendly and helpful. Typical breakfast on offer and well laid out. The room however was dated with curtains hanging off the hooks and would neither open or close. The room was also facing the main road and didn't give a good seal so could hear every noise from the front of the hotel. Served my purpose for a one night stay before an early meeting but would not recommend for stays of any longer.

regarding my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Rotherham, Junction 33. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below the standards I expect from your brand. To summarise: 1. I was first given a key to an occupied room. This is not only awkward but a serious breach of guest privacy and security. 2. I was then moved to a second room directly above a disco, with loud music continuing past midnight. After a long day, this made rest impossible, so I had no option but to complain and request another room. 3. The third room had poorly fitted windows, resulting in constant motorway noise throughout the night. The window appeared barely shut, offering little to no sound insulation. By this point, I had been moved three times and still did not receive a room that provided a basic, comfortable night’s sleep. What should have been a straightforward stay became a frustrating and exhausting experience.
