Halfords Autocentre Scarborough

10/10 5 stars all round! After my brakes were barely passing on its MOT I took it to Halfords for a free brake check, served by Ollie on the front he couldn’t have been more thorough with walking me through what the issues were with my brakes and how we could rectify this. Very friendly polite and very calm. Fast forward after this to when my brakes are being done he’s there again still with his same manor. Brakes feel amazing afterwards. Huge shoutout to Ollie for his amazing customer service and Stephen for the fitting!!

I made an appointment for a tyre fitting, arrived 10 mins early (as requested), the lad on the counter was polite and explained it would take about 45 minutes, I went away and came back after 40 minutes, my car had been moved into the fitting bay but they weren't actually working on it. I had to wait another 50 minutes before they fitted the one tyre - never seen anyone working so slowly and with absolutely no regard for the customer sat waiting. Overall it took an hour and a half to get one tyre fitted despite having an appointment which I was early for.

VERY friendly and helpful staff at the Scarborough branch. A quick job done (30 minutes). It’s just a shame that Halfords have stopped doing ‘Tyres on the drive’ in this area now. That was even easier!

Jack and Ethan really went above and beyond for me when I was in a pickle. My valve on my tyre had snapped at 5.45pm and I was due to drive down to Manchester Airport with 3 other girls for my hen do and were due to set off at midnight the same night. Everywhere was shut or shutting and wouldn't fix my issue for me. Rang Halfords, Scarborough - spoke to Jack and he told me he would wait for me to get there with the tyre and sort it for me. We arrived at 6.15pm, a whole 15 minutes after closing and they got right to it. They are literal gods in my eyes. Their service was amazing, they explained everything so well. They were quick, friendly and trustworthy and had my tyre to go 10 minutes later. Worth their weight in gold! Thank you so much guys!

I had broken down on holiday and needed to be recovered by the AA. This was a stressful situation for me. The AA mechanic diagnosed 2 problems, a bust break pipe which was fairly obvious due to leaking fluid and a snapped gear cable that needed to be replaced as the car would not select reverse gear. On arriving at the auto centre in Scarborough the price for the work was explained and timescales were very realistically described to me depending on availability of parts. Bearing in mind I drive a 20 year old Toyota. I had to stay an extra night in Scarborough and the staff really took my situation on board, but they already had a busy next day scheduled in the workshop so I appreciated a “best effort” approach as this was a sudden situation. I received a call the next day at around 11:00am to tell me my car was nearly ready, such a relief. They then informed me that the suspected gear cable breakage was a clip that had become disconnected, and they had sorted that. This made the bill quite a bit cheaper than I was expecting. Thank you very much for the honest and transparent approach from the team at Scarborough. It would have been very easy for a garage to carry out unnecessary work, and I would not have been any the wiser. This level of professionalism would make me recommend Halfords auto centres to anyone. Thank you to the whole team at Scarborough for really taking care of me in my hour of need.
