Scarborough Post Office

This post office is an option for click and collect. I’ve had multiple deliveries sent here and never had a problem they’ve always been quite nice and competent. I was told today that this isn’t allowed and future parcels will be returned to sender. I explained that the PnP is paid for and has the Royal Mail crest on it with proof of payment and addressed to them with click and collect on the label. I’ve been left unsure of what to do as I’ve never had this problem before and they are Christmas presents. Have I done anything wrong? I am unsure. I followed the correct avenues and paid what was needed or was the usually decent staff just having a bad day? I’ve not been able to get through to Royal Mail personally so am unsure what’s happened.

Service is friendly and efficient. The staff I interacted with seemed well trained, helpful, and patient. They helped me understand which service I needed, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I was confident about the postage and packaging options. The whole experience felt much smoother than I’d feared after the relocation.

Terrible place. Not enough staff. Extremely slow service. Not the staffs fault I suppose. You have to blame the franchise owner.

EURO EXCHANGE RATE RIP OFF! Got rate from Post Office official website, didn't read the small print -click and collect rate only. Went into main branch in Scarborough and got charged £30 more for £400 euros. No signs, no explanation, no exchange rates on display, no refund after transaction completed. Apparently rates differ from branch to branch. The post office is not the great British service it once was, it all private but still dines out and capitalises on its old trustworthy reputation and rips off the uninformed.

Absolutely shocking as never any staff even close to Christmas reduce peak hour times / no staff & not even open till 5pm some week days which is just beyond a joke? What makes it much worse is staff wondering around WH Smith doing very little it seems, at that time, who don’t work for the PO but have enough time to standby idly & be are horrific nasty and sour natured to people coming into the store? This applies especially to a member of staff named Debbie who might be a bully managers with nobody to answer to that’s usually the case, & another sullen, 45+ year old lady that’s very slim with pony tail always in front. Can they not get staff who smile? Awful service & long lines….most frustrating all round. Don’t come here!
