Convenient, comfortable hotel for one night. I often choose Premier Inn places as they always take bikes. We had 2 ebikes, and this is the first place we've found that asked us to leave the batteries at reception. Not sure why, apart from the constant misinformation about spontaneous fires (from illegal setups). That aside, the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel seems to be a labyrinth between reception and the bar/dining area, but plenty of good breakfast options in the pedestrianised Street outside (which are closer than the PI restaurant!) Comfortable room. Reliable.
Right in the centre of Scarborough so walking distance to the seafront. Hotel was busy so always a good sign! We booked Premier plus rooms which are a good size with coffee machine, iron and ironing board, fridge and an excellent bathroom with large walk in shower. On the 5th floor so very quite. Had an excellent night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. If you want a family budget hotel this is perfect. Adjoining the hotel is a Brewers fayre so you don't have to venture out for breakfast.
Booked this room last minute for the night as we arrived in Scarborough quite late. The room was clean and rather spacious, the bed was comfortable and there was an added perk of a late check out. The room has a big TV too! The staff were lovely too - thank you for being so welcoming! Only issue I had was the sink drain wasn’t fully cleaned, and thus partially blocked.
I'll start with the good things It's not very pricey and the rooms are decently cleaned on the surface, when you walk in you can tell its clean, except I feel it wasn't and I'll explain later. The location is really great, and the nights are quiet with the town below being silent late at night and you're also a few minutes away from a view of the beach. However, my review rating dropped low because of one thing: itching during the night. The rooms are stuffy, they feel dry but without the air con you're left too hot to sleep, it's a double edged sword, my partner slept okay so maybe it's just me and I have sensitive skin but never had issues anywhere else, maybe the detergent they use is something I'm sensitive to, but won't be returning to this premier or any premier because of it - when my partner went down to reception to ask if there was anything they could do, apparently she was very rude and asked "What do you want me to do about it?" - he mentioned I had a disability and then apparently she said "In that case..." which if anything proves a major issue. If someone comes down asking for a new pair of sheets or says their room is causing issues then maybe look at another option? I appeciate its strange but not having some sheets on hand that are a different detergent or even hypoallergenic (which if they have, makes this situation 10x worse and proves how inadequate this member of staff was) seems like a bit of an oversight, So yeah, that experience really rubbed me the wrong way and made me feel uncomfortable. Honestly with the sinus issues to go with it, not sure if it's dust from the HVAC, air conditioning or an allergy, either way it's not worth the risk! Honestly felt like a rip off with the ultimate WiFi, which turns out £5 is for one voucher, so we paid £15 for three for three nights thinking we could share them, turns out it's one per person, nowhere on the booking did it mention that little fact. Location was good like I said, but honestly, worse then my experience in Ibis.
Great location, great staff, very clean room. Windows are sealed however so rooms are stuffy and regularly get too warm. We had to use the air con a few times which caused sinus issues and still didnt remove the trapped feeling of the room. Unfortunately my friend and I went for a curry the final night so the staff will most likely agree that openable windows aren't too much to ask for when they clean the room. They were great though, just a strange, most likely money saving quirk of Premier Inn management. Everywhere else seems to manage fine with opening windows.
