The Mayfield Seamer

Wouldn't stay again. The location was good but there are many other places to stay near by. Service was pretty terrible to be honest. Many staff members seemed to find it difficult to keep any eye contact and speak. One ran off when we asked if we could check in saying "I can't do that!". Room was trying to be modern but that's inappropriate for the location. Was quite a bit of mold in the bathroom near the shower. Toilet seat super uncomfortable. It felt like I should be a European City Centre, not a Yorkshire village. We had a carvery on Sunday - it wasn't great especially for the price. Breakfast was okay but inconsistently servered depending on the member of staff working. Coffee in a pot one day, super strong coffee in a cup the next. 2 pieces of toast one day, 3 the day before. Some items cold, some hot. Wouldn't recommend especially for the price.

I'm very pleasant with all the services Mayfield Seamer offers. The kind staff, the spotlessly clean place and the delicious food are many factors for a big "Yes". Furthermore, the play area gives us the opportunity to have happiness, kids and adults. On the other hand, I cannot understand why some families are sitting there if they be bothered by kids' playing or their excitement into the play area.

Quite possibly the nicest carvery I've had. The quality of the food even on a serve yourself stand was beyond expectations and what I'd expect from a plated gastro pub experience. The meat was tender and juicy, excellent range of trimmings all fresh, hot and tasty. Not just a bowl of boiled veg chucked under a lamp but skilfully prepared, seasoned food alongside a friendly service and busy atmosphere. Definitely recommend booking even though walk ins are welcome it's a very busy venue and you don't want to miss out. Priced very reasonably also.

Didn't stay in the hotel but the Novello cottage that's in association! We can't believe how absolutely STUNNING this place is, especially for the amazing price! Check in is at the hotel reception and we were met with a young lady who was extremely friendly. The cottage is round the corner literally a 30 second walk. We walked in and were extremely impressed straight away. Very lovely and modern decor. Spotlessly clean and very welcoming and homely. We even had a private yard to enjoy some sun. The bed was like sleeping on a marshmallow. So comfy. Will 100% be using this place again and HIGHLY recommend. Perfect for people going to events in scarbrough! Only very very slight down fall is the lack of parking.

Customer service... 5* Leah was amazing. I have had issues with booking.com over a cancellation from FEBRUARY! With booking.com saying they cant contact the hotel, they never answer the phone etc. Yet I have managed, countless times to speak with the wonderful staff at the hotel and they confirmed the refund, even when they hadn't received monies from BK.com. Well this is where it comes to LEAH at the hotel, she was amazing, understood the situation and issued the refund from the hotels end even though they hadn't been paid from booking.com. I will 100% be booking to come back (when the other half isnt having a baby) Thanks LEAH great work.
