Didn't have any issues charging. Did a couple of top ups in different stations and all worked first time 70p kWh +VAT isn't the cheapest but neither the most expensive. There's a cafe in the car park and many within a minutes walk. Remember to get a ticket for the parking as well
At this price (57p/kW) these are very expensive units to use, (“Come on Insta, be more competitive!”) especially as these Rapid Chargers are only rated at 50kW maximum. My local Fastned chargers are 54p/kW But provide up to 175kW of power. Now that is fair pricing!!
Failed chargers not getting picked up by instavolt - I called this one in as it was showing unavailable. No issues showing at instavolt’s end. Are they relying on users being their technical team? There should be a big beacon in the central office when a charger has failed: it shouldn’t be a frustrated user ringing them up.
All stations available and working when I arrived. Charged without a problem, using this app to start charge and to pay - plus a good lunch in Booths cafe (parking charge reimbursed). Car charged from 25% to 90% in less than an hour. I doubt it was actually charging at a rate of 125kWh. as advertised , but that might be a vehicle restriction.
These are generally reliable chargers which I use regularly. I do concur that the access space is very restricted and difficult for anyone to access if the other chargers are in use. How older people manage to leap across in such a small space and lift the very heavy cables defeats me! Note they have now been upgraded to the 125KWh models which are better. Note to other reviewers who complain about charge rates -these are normally set by your car's own controller (BMS) which sets the charging rate depending on battery temperature and state of charge. It usually has nothing to do with the chargers -if they are working that is!
