I've lived here for a decade. Peter and Pauline ran a great local store. But Theepan and Prashanth are doing a great job. They've listened to the community and are stocking anything I've asked them for. I've known a few other locals who have said the same. They're trying to revitalise the local shop. And they're working hard. I've also been asked in to advise them on updating the store when they had a boiler issue and some electrical problems. They've made sure the services were maintained and spent a lot of money repairing the heating and refrigeration. They keep a well stocked shop. And the post office has been continually in service throughout the renovations. Hard working lads. Really nice family all of them. In my experience they've always been hospitable and friendly to me and my wife. I am thankful for their services at the shop, and for their friendship over the last few months. Best wishes for the Christmas period lads. Many thanks. Damian
We’re local residents from the village and have regularly used Eastburn Stores over the years — which makes this experience even more disappointing. My daughter recently bought a swimming pool and asked the shopkeeper how big it was. The lady told her it was “small and not overly big.” Based on that, she bought it — but when she got home and opened the box, it turned out to be 3 metres wide, far too big for her space. She went back to return it with her dad, explained the issue calmly, and was met with rude and aggressive behaviour from the “gentleman” behind the counter. The shopkeeper pointed in her face and told her she is now barred from the shop — just for trying to return an item that was clearly misrepresented. Shocking customer service. This is not how customers — especially loyal local ones who are in there weekly — should be treated. We’re extremely disappointed and won’t be using the shop again.
Next to a fish and chips shop. Decent place for car parking available. Also hosts a good convenience store. I recommend trying the off-the-shelf milk from this store; it's likely one of the best I've had in this area. I inquired with the staff, and they mentioned it's from a local farm nearby. If you live in the area and have young kids, it's worth giving this milk a try.
No idea what is going on. But Im not going to post letters and parcels The whole shop smells of food cooking. Its now untidy will not be going again
Great post office but with the rise of online shopping it would benefit from hosting in post/evri lockers like so many are doing.
