The worst customer journey I have ever had. I ordered a half-and-half large pizza via Uber eats. It arrived in perfect time, But when it arrived, the dough was raw. When you picked up a slice it flopped! (See pictures) I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, who told me he had cooked the pizza himself and he felt it was cooked correctly. First of all, why is a manager cooking pizzas!? A manager is there to manage the restaurant!? And a chef is there to cook the pizzas?! If I knew a manager was cooking my pizza I’d have gone else where! I explained i have videos and pictures of the raw doughy pizza, to which anyone would agree it’s raw. I also explained that Im a single mum on benefits, and paying £25 for a raw sloppy floppy pizza is a lot of money to us. He didn’t seem bothered, and when I asked for his name he refused to tell me! He then brushed me off still claiming in his optimism the pizza was cooked perfectly and to go through uber eats. When I called the restaurant back again to speak to the manager he then said “me no understand english!” Really bad customer service, bad pizza, iv spent a lot of money with pizza express over the years, they have now lost my custom. Trash, don’t bother! 👎 Go to chicos, lovely staff, great pizzas and quarter of the price!
We arrived to our 6pm booking at 5:50, albeit a little early but better than being late. We were greeted and asked where we wanted to sit, after we sat we were left for a solid 5 minutes, the lady came back around and I enquired about our tastecard, she then spent another 5 minutes asking and looking in a book if it could be used today. She eventually came back to us, said that the book said no but another member of staff did one today and it was fine. We ordered drinks, olives, starters and mains. drinks came out very quickly and then it wasn’t until 6:37 that our olives and starters came out together. There were only 2 other tables in at this time. My bruschetta may as well have been an onion flatbread, there were barely any tomatoes, we also didn’t get offered any salt/pepper and there were none on the tables. My partner also said his prawns were disappointing (not surprising after we saw the chef bring what looked like a bag of frozen prawns from upstairs!). The chefs then had the nerve to tell (I’m guessing?) the manager that they didn’t want anymore walk ins because they had too many takeaways??!! Call me traditional but 1. Surely that’s the managers decision and 2. Surely they should be prioritising the experience of customers wanting to go out for food, I would have thought they would be turning off the takeaways rather than turning away paying customers ( baring in mind there were only 6 other tables). A lovely gentleman with his wife started asking where there food was, they had been sat for around 40 minutes and only ordered 2 pizzas, the waitress said it wouldn’t be long, yet it still took another 15 minutes - at least! Our main courses came quite quick in comparison to the starters my Pollo ad Astra was good but my partners Calabrian Feast was literally dripping with chilli oil and grease. Overall we paid (surprise surprise the tastecard didn’t work), didn’t get asked how our food was or our time, we skipped deserts and went to Asda for them instead. The whole place seemed to be in shambles, nothing like the Birstal store we regularly go to.
Had a lovely time, great service and great food. Vinny was a wonderful waitress. Over all excellent experience will be back again.
Wednesday 9th Dec, we decided to have a late lunch at Skipton Pizza Express, there were 5 of us. From start to finish our waitress, Vincenza, was very attentive, patient and helpful. Food was excellent, Garlic Prawns for all, can highly recommend them, then a different Pizza for everyone. Food was fabulous. Slight lack of atmosphere, but this was probably due to time of day, did not affect our enjoyment. Special thanks to Vincenza.
Absolutely delicious food and all the staff were friendly. There was an issue with the bill but the lovely staff happily sorted it out.
