Welcome to Yorkshire
News • March 12th, 2025
|English Tourism Week is back, running from 14th to 23rd March 2025, and it's all about celebrating the people, places, and businesses that make England a fantastic place to visit. Led by VisitEngland, this year’s theme—“Supporting people and places to drive growth”—focuses on boosting local tourism and the businesses behind it.
If you're part of the tourism industry, this is your chance to put your business in the spotlight and show off what makes your corner of England special. From social media campaigns to in-person events, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Why English Tourism Week Matters
Tourism is a huge part of the English economy, contributing billions every year and supporting countless jobs. Whether you run a B&B in the countryside, a café in the city, or an attraction by the coast, this is a chance to highlight your role in the industry. It's also an opportunity to encourage more visitors, support your local area, and connect with fellow businesses.
How to Take Part
VisitEngland has made it easy for businesses to join in with a free toolkit full of useful resources like:
- Social media templates – Post about English Tourism Week with ready-made designs.
- Posters – Print them and display them in your venue.
- Marketing assets – Use these for promoting special offers, events, or just sharing your story.
But you don’t have to stop there. Here are some extra ways to make the most of the week:
1. Shout About It Online
Use social media to spread the word. Post about your business, your team, or what makes your location special. Remember to use #EnglishTourismWeek25 and tag VisitEngland (@VisitEnglandBiz on X or VisitEngland on LinkedIn) to get more visibility.
2. Get Your Venue Involved
- Decorate your space with English Tourism Week posters.
- Offer special discounts or promotions for visitors during the week.
- Organise themed events or experiences—think local food tastings, guided tours, or behind-the-scenes access.
3. Celebrate Your Achievements
Now’s the time to show off what you’ve accomplished! Whether it's a renovation, a sustainability project, or excellent customer reviews, share your successes with visitors and online followers.
4. Connect with the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP)
For businesses in South Yorkshire, the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) will be talking about English Tourism Week on LinkedIn throughout the event.
If you have a project, event, or initiative that you'd like them to showcase—especially if it’s about training and career development in tourism—reach out to Gini Wilde in the next few days.
The LVEP will also be working with local media to highlight the importance of tourism in the region. If you have something exciting to share, email southyorkshirelvep@sheffield.gov.uk for more details.
Final Thoughts
English Tourism Week isn’t just a celebration—it’s a chance to boost your business, attract new visitors, and be part of something bigger. Whether you take small steps, like using the social media templates, or go big with special events, every effort helps to highlight the power of tourism in England.
So, how will you get involved? 🌍✨
