I went with my partner when he had his bloods drawn. Karen, the Nurse, took really good care of him. He’s scared of needles so I go with him to his appointments, and she was so sweet with him and kept him calm. She was friendly and professional, and made the whole appointment so much easier.
Hate to have to do this but the experiences I've had lately with this surgery have been shocking and unprofessional. Recently had two medications finally prescribed after handing over so many documents and phones calls, to then be sent a letter to say they weren't happy about prescribing said meds to begin with a couple of months ago. Anyway some time later I was able to request the medications but trying to get them refilled has been a game of backwards and forwards constantly. After picking up a medication week ago I was told that they would be 3 pills missing and that I could come back later to pick the rest up so fast forward a few days I went to pick up those missing pills along with a new prescription and some days later I called to have one of the prescriptions refilled and was told it would take 48hrs for them to be approved and sent to the pharmacy, so the very next day I called again and was told that the prescription had been approved and was ready to be collected from the pharmacy, but after calling the pharmacy they couldn't see the request on their system so was advised to go to the surgery to have them fill a paper script to hand over to them. So after walking there to speak to them I was told that it was for the 3 missing pills which I thought was pretty ridiculous because why would I request the 3 missing pills when I should've had them in my previous prescription? And when I explained that it was for a new prescription I was then told that I could no longer request those medications anymore, to which I couldn't understand at all especially after being told previously on the phone that a new prescription was approved and ready for me to collect and now I'm being told completely differently?? The receptionist then went on to explain to me that a new letter had been emailed to me to explain why they were no longer gonna prescribe my medications anymore, an email apparently sent at the end of October and the email in question which she read out to me said exactly the same thing as the first email I had received months ago, so I knew it was exactly the same email not a new one and upon looking into my email account there is no new letter at all only the first one I received 2 months ago?? And if this was the case why wasn't I told this the past few times I went down to collect my scripts. None of this makes any sense and I feel like I've been mislead a few times now being told one thing then something entirely different the next! This experience has caused nothing but stress and worry throughout it all. I don't mean to come across as being rude but the overall communication has been poor and very misleading. This is the first time experiencing this and I'm not doing this again it's been absolutely ridiculous.
I have always found this practice and their GPs excellent in every way. Very prompt service following e-consult requests but above all their response answering telephone queries is superb. You never have to wait very long for the phones to be answered which seems unusual according to many GP practices. Well done Station Rd. Surgery, let's hope it continues, a pity we can't say the same for our hospitals.
I had a very upsetting and concerning experience with Dr Kazi. He questioned why I was not breastfeeding and when I said I was bottle feeding, he told me that “wasn’t an answer.” He then stated that this is a problem with “modern mothers” because he is “traditional.” This was completely inappropriate, judgmental, and unprofessional. Even more worryingly, he diagnosed my symptoms as asthma. I was later admitted to hospital with a suspected blood clot in my lungs. After initially getting sent a link to a YouTube video about taking antibiotics before even being able to book an appointment.
Great practice. Been dealing with chronic illness for 3 years now with the surgery and they've never been anything but kind, patient and churning through everything they can do to figure out what's wrong. Exceptionally friendly :)
