Hornby Laithe Bunkhouse Barn

I ran a trip to the Yorkshire Dales back in February this year, with my university hiking group. I had booked the full package for 50 people (£250 more than the standard rate). However, my trip was undersubscribed unfortunately, and I requested that we were refunded the extra £250 if the additional rooms, which we no longer needed, were locked. The bunkhouse manager agreed to my request in writing, but after six months and countless phone calls and emails, we are still yet to receive the money, even though the rooms were locked during our stay. It would be an understatement to say that the level of customer service has been of a very poor standard throughout this. It is a shame that it has turned out this way, because I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the bunkhouse, and would like to think that members of my group did as well. Now my club has been left £250 out of pocket (without even receiving the full package that we paid for) and we will not be returning, that is for sure. Happy to delete this review, if you are willing to resolve this with our new treasurer in a timely manner.

Absolutely stunning group accommodation in the perfect setting, just 5 minutes drive from the start of the 3 Peaks Challenge. Has everything you would need, 10 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and dining room, and enough toilets and showers for everyone. Add to this the games room in the adjacent building, and the huge playing field ( with a beautiful stream at the bottom) and it’s a 10/10.

Just had the most amazing weekend celebrating my 50th birthday here. Neil and Enid are amazing hosts, allowing us to visit twice before hand. They were incredibly accommodating and are such lovely friendly people. The facilities are first class, plenty of toilets and showers and the 3 kitchen areas were really well equipped. Highly recommended for a family party and we will definitely be back!

An absolutely amazing accommodation in a beautiful setting with plenty of space and facilities. The nearby village is a 5 mins drive and there is endless hikes, walks, activities etc to do all very local to the accomadation. We stayed with a group of families made out of 50 people who all made memories for life. One of the many benefits of staying here is the super fantastic hosts, we can not thank you guys enough for all you have done for us. We are already organising our next trip!

Great venue. My friend hired the field and bunkhouse for a festival and it was fantastic. Didn't really go into the bunkhouse so I can't comment on that but the field was great. River running through the bottom too - if only it hadn't been raining I could've gone for a dip but the water was moving too fast. Great location. Facilities were clean and tidy. Literally no complaints.
