Secret of Eden Beach House

We had a great stay at Secret of Eden with our 4-week-old daughter and dog, enjoying a much-needed change of scenery. The place was very clean and had everything we needed for a short stay — it felt like a home away from home, with plenty of space for a small family. Host was friendly and clear with instructions and house rules ahead of our arrival. The location was great too. The Bay had all the essentials just a short walk away (shop, pharmacy, pub with food and drinks), and the beach was dog-friendly as well. It was also a good base for exploring the coast and nearby attractions - Filey, Scarborough, Bempton Cliffs etc. We’ll definitely be back when our little one is older to make the most of the on-site activities too. Thanks again for a lovely stay — we’re feeling refreshed!

We absolutely loved our stay in Filey at Toms beach house. We went with our three kids - 4-2 and 3 months old and 2 dogs and it was perfect. Days spent with a nice walk down to the beach which was quite steep but flat so we could take a pushchair/trolley with us and evenings spent on the patio whilst the kids could play. Tom was really responsive and helped us get the car charger working as well as providing great recommendations for our stay. Onsite facilities is everything you’d need including a park and arcade for the kids and we used the leisure centre for the indoor pool on a rainy afternoon which the kids enjoyed. Short drive away into Filey for Tesco so we managed to do a lot of meals too which was helpful with the kids and for slower mornings and breakfasts. Everywhere is dog friendly too including some helpful leads on the patio too. Already looking at when we may be able to make a return trip :)

Beautiful property I. A wonderful location. Every last detail means you could literally just walk in. The technology supplied was great but the relaxed atmosphere, well presented house was just perfect and well worth the price we paid. Thank you for sharing your home.

The host was incredibly inconsiderate, slow to respond and extremely unhelpful. The building its self has an extremely repugnant smell that we could not get rid of. The location is poor and has nothing of value to offer in walking distance. Finally, this building is located just next to a pond this meant that the cabin was crawling in insects, THOUSANDS! They were all over our bed, crawling over food in the kitchen and were even in my child’s cot whilst he was trying to sleep. Overall, this was the wort trip I have ever booked. Extremely over priced. Unprofessional host. Poor location. Terrible property. Poorly maintained. I could not recommend this host + location any LESS! We lest early and we’re not offered any money back. Simply ghosted by the host.

We had a lovely time in the Secret of Eden beach house. It was very cosy, clean and well equipped, on a peaceful and clean site. The house is perfectly situated for a short walk to the beach and lots to explore in the local area. The biggest bonus was that it is dog friendly with lovely touches that made our dog feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend a visit and would love to return one day.
