Best experience Very efficient service! The appointment was on time, and I was in and out quickly, which I appreciated. Dr. Mansoor was knowledgeable and professional, answering all my questions clearly and without jargon. I felt confident in the diagnosis and the proposed next steps. The booking process was simple, and the staff were polite. A very smooth, positive, and well-organized experience overall. I will definitely be returning to this clinic."
I don’t usually write reviews but this felt important to share. I really tried to give this doctor surgery a chance after the first two appointments were extremely unprofessional and excessively late. I returned for a third appointment only to experience yet another uncomfortable interaction with reception staff and nurses. Reception Staff are clearly overwhelmed And don’t offer compassion or kindness when dealing with patients. My first two appointments were that traumatising it put me off ever get my bloods done again. I’ve never had an issue with having my bloods taken and not scared of needles however, the first phlebotomist was clearly not trained and she jabbed me four times very painfully in my arm and said there was no way she could access my veins asking me to come back a different day because my “veins haven’t woken up yet’. It was 11am. I chose to sit and wait to see a more experienced phlebotomist. He pointed out quickly that she wasn’t anywhere close to my veins and was simply jabbing into the skin of my arm straight into my muscle. I’d like to point out the second phlebotomist was a lot more professional and kind, however due to anxiety and stress of being there over an hour and having to wait- he had no choice to take blood from my hand. He presseed on the needle squeezing the blood out - almost massaging the blood out of my hand. He continually moved the needle inside my hand, for an excessive amount of time. This process causing extreme swelling and discomfort to the point of I nearly passed out as he was trying to squeeze as much blood as he could. I’ve never experienced such a traumatic doctors visit for something that I’ve done so many times before at my old doctors. I had bruising and swelling for days. I’ve had bloods taken in my hand before and have never experienced such pain. Photos attached. The third visit was experiencing a flu job vaccine. I waited 45 minutes until a nurse told me to check with reception if i was signed in correctly due to me not being on her list of scheduled appointments. The reception were very dismissive and rude- clearly stressed with the massive continuous queue in the foyer. I found out after waiting for nearly 50 minutes that I was not booked in successfully, despite being sent multiple appointment reminders all week for that mornings appointment . I was assured that they would sort it and told me to take a seat in reception. Shortly after sitting back in the waiting area I received a message saying ‘thank you for booking your flu vaccine appointment which stated a date in two weeks time. This was extremely upsetting and frustrating as no communication was given to me about my appointment. I took the morning off work to attend (for something that wouldn’t usually take more than 10 minutes)and understand There were multiple flu clinics and vaccinations going on that morning however A patient should not be sat waiting that long be checked with such dismissal and simply asked to come back later because it’s not convenient for them. After complaining to reception and getting upset in front of a group of people, one of the nurses took me to the side and made sure I got seen and given my vaccine. These two nurses were excellent however I no longer feel comfortable staying at the practice due to the multiple unprofessional dealings over the past six months at Elm tree surgery. I wish I complained after my first two visits, however I really wanted to give the surgery a chance. Unfortunately, I will be deregistering as a patient.
cannot say enough wonderful things about this phlebotomist mr Bandara Haliyadde. From the moment you meet him, his kindness and genuine care shine through. He is incredibly attentive and always makes sure you feel comfortable and safe every step of the way. He treats his patients like family — truly like a daughter — with so much patience, respect, and warmth. What makes him even more special is his ability to create lovely, meaningful conversations that instantly put you at ease. He listens, remembers little details, and makes every visit feel personal rather than rushed. His compassion and professionalism go hand in hand, and it’s clear that he truly loves what he does. If you’re someone who gets nervous about blood work, he completely changes the experience into something calm and reassuring. He is an absolute gem, and any patient is lucky to be in his care. Highly recommend! A lovely man.
I moved to elm tree doctors after listening to many people that had already registered. I have been so happy with the service and care I have received so far. The receptionists are so friendly and they genuinely seem to want to help you. The doctors/nurses are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. They take the time to listen and dont just rush you out with a prescription for tablets. I'm thrilled I made the swap from my old doctors.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I couldn’t let this one slide. I recently visited the Elm Tree Surgery – Thornaby branch and was seen by Dr. Louise Danby and a MS. Hisham. They are genuinely the best clinicians who have attended to me in the three years I’ve been registered with the surgery. Their kindness, empathy and understanding of patients’ needs were truly outstanding. Their proactiveness and the way they made me feel listened to and supported really stood out. I’m extremely grateful for their care and feel they deserve to be recognised for the exceptional service they provide. I highly recommend them to anyone visiting the Thornaby branch.
