Charles Clinkard Teesside Park

I have reluctantly had to add one star to this review in order for it to be submitted, but in reality I did not wish to add any!! I purchased 2 pairs of sandals from you at the beginning of June and had them delivered to your Teesside Park, Stockton store. The first pair were obviously brand new, but unfortunately they did not fit me, so I decided I would return them. When I opened the box of the 2nd pair (Ecco Gruuv Sol Women’s Sandals), the sandals were loosely wrapped in crumpled paper, and I instantly noticed that something wasn’t ok with the right shoe, in that the Velcro straps were not in the correct position, and the footbed was dirty, which made it clear that it had been worn. When I turned over both sandals, I saw that the sole of the left shoe was lightly dirty and showed evidence of being worn, but the right one I have to say was in a disgusting state. The sandal was filthy with dirt in the tread, it had most definitely been worn on more than one occasion. The simple fact that I had purchased these on the understanding that they would be brand new, I found this experience shocking and extremely annoying. I took them back to the Teesside Park store, where I was served by a really surly gentleman who was very blasé about the whole situation, and simply brushed off my concerns and annoyance. I wasn’t rude or even caused a fuss, but I found him rude. He basically couldn’t see what the problem was and disregarded the fact that I had paid £115 for a pair of new sandals, but instead received a pair of dirty used ones. He also inferred that the issue was with Ecco and not Clinkards, then he jokingly said that maybe someone tried them on in store somewhere and stood in a dirty puddle. His attitude was impolite and discourteous (especially as I’ve only recently found out that he was the Manager). He never apologised or offer to reorder them for me, only that he would refund them. He finished by saying if I wasn’t happy with them there were plenty of other shoes in the store…and pointed his finger at them further down the store. I declined! I have purchased many shoes from Clinkards over the years, and this is not the standard I would expect! I will NOT being going to the Teesside Park store ever again, and I'm not sure whether I will shop at Clinkards again!

I had the best experience in this store. I have two neuro diverse kids who struggle to keep focused when we are shopping, Lola was so kind and patient with them. We got shoes without the usual issues and the experience was fun instead of stressful. Thank you so much Lola…I am one less stressed Mum!!

I came in at the weekend to get my daughter some new shoes sorted for school. We were served by Sarah who was very helpful and patient with us. It is not the easiest to shop with a child but this time was really smooth and stress free. Thank you

I would to say a huge thank you to Donna, at your store. As you were the only store saying on line with a particularly pair of trainers for my Husband Birthday. Donna offered to go and look straight away, while I waited on the phone.She had them & I asked if to send to Cheltenham branch for us to collect. Then rang me a couple of hrs later, to say she'd let Cheltenham know & trainers ready to go on the van next day! Donna your customer service was 100% thank you, you were brilliant! X👏👏

Fantastic, personable and professional service from Joshua when I took my 14 year old son to buy school shoes. Joshua really went the extra mile to make it a great shopping experience.
