Lydgate Village Shop and Post Office

Nice shop with plenty of essentials and treats, but it's always closed for one reason or another. It doesn't help it's only open til 6pm so you need to rush when you finish work to have a chance of getting in

This shop used to be the most beautiful snapshot back in time. The staff and owners were amazing. Beautiful hot and cold fresh food made with local produce cooked with passion. Daily changing menu. Fresh cakes and pastries. A proper old English village shop. Chris Dave Helen all the old faces, then it was bought by the new owners who have slowly absolutely destroyed everything this shop had going for it. They have got rid of the old guard and there personalities just aren't the same. No more freshly cooked food. No more pop in for a chat. The life and soul has been sadly drained from what was once the hub of the community. Sad :(

I can't say enough about this delightful little shop. Great food, great assortment of goods and a fantastic postal service. If I was to give one criticism, it would be that the shop doesn't always open on time every day and this can be a little inconvenient at times. All in all though, really good!

Love this oldy wordy shop. They sell munch stuff as well as hot & cold fress foods & drinks. They sell beer and spirits as well. Its only tiny so only alows two people in at a time. It is a post office as well so it dose almost all the facilatys. Lovely ladys that work there well defanetly be poping in again as we well be in the area again so.

Absolute gem of a shop. They sell everything and the staff are really friendly. If you get chance, try the food .. it's all homemade and delicious!
