Swaleside Country Park

Having stayed at Swaleside country park, my wife and I decided to buy a static holiday home there! The park is kept in immaculate condition and the park manger Gretchen Wardman was very welcoming. Buying a static holiday home there was very easy and painless mainly due to Gretchen, who’s communication and help was invaluable.

Gorgeous park. Perfect location, close to pubs and village centre. Lovely well kept grounds right in the river side. Gretchen & Barry who run the place keep it in tip top condition. Always happy to help others.

We have been looking to purchase a holiday retreat for a few months and decided to explore North Yorkshire and around Thirsk area. We researched for local parks and came across Swaleside. Upon finding the site in a quaint well maintained village we found the secluded site right on the river swale. We were greeted by Gretchen and her husband who was maintaining the grounds after high winds. The place was immaculate and could clearly see the personal pride in the site. When we had met Gretchen and explained what we were looking for she explained what the site had to offer and everything was about did it meet what we were looking for! There was no high pressure selling just a relaxed atmosphere and conversation and shown around the site and the vacant plots and homes. We narrowed it down to 2 that we liked and Gretchen gave us the keys to both to revisit on our own, whilst walking around the site it was clear to see the engagement and love and care that Gretchen and her husband put into the site and how the home owners loved and respected them both, huge selling point for us, it was not about parting us from our money but a mutual trust and respect by everyone we came across. We decided and even then no high pressure selling techniques just a warmth and support in every step of the process. We pick up our keys on 1st November and cannot wait to join the Swaleside Country Park community, The care consideration and support offered by Gretchen and her husband made it such an easy choice as everything was about creating a home for us. We love coming up to Swaleside, it’s our favourite place to be. The setting by the river is beautiful. Gretchen and Barry do a great job looking after everything. They always have a smile and are approachable if you need help.

I visited Swaleside today, (10.09.24) to view a used static caravan. The viewing was conducted by Chris, who was covering annual leave. With limited experience of this particular venue, he showed me around the immaculately presented site and equally well prepared unit for sale. His knowledge of the buying process, regulations and his allround good manner were a credit to those who entrust him with existing and prospective customers.
