I honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful we are to the incredible midwives who helped bring our beautiful daughter into this world. From the very beginning, you treated us with so much warmth, care, and reassurance, and in the moments we needed it most, you were our strength. You weren’t just medical professionals you became part of our journey, part of our story. The way you guided us through every step, kept us calm, and made sure both baby and mum were safe will stay with us forever. Your kindness, your patience, and your gentle encouragement meant more than you will ever know. Watching our daughter arrive safely into the world was the most emotional and life changing moment of our lives, and it’s because of your incredible support that the experience was so beautiful. We will always remember your smiles, your comforting words, and the genuine love you put into your work. We hope and pray that all your wishes and dreams come true, You guys are an inspiration. Thank you, Fazeela, Layla, Abigail & the rest of the midwives and doctors at gate 18 also our wonderful community midwife Nicola from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us welcome our wonderful daughter. You will forever have a special place in our family’s memories. ❤️

Brilliant pediatrics department, the childrens assessment unit/ childrens ward staff were amazing with my son. He went in struggling with his breathing and every nurse and doctor we saw were checking in regularly, informative and so friendly towards him. I can't thank them enough for making his first hospital visit a positive experience, they got him feeling well enough to be treated at home quickly and with plenty of information and medicines. They showed me how to use his inhaler and gave some great advice too. We are very happy with the staff here, they are fantastic.

Gate 40 disgusting treatment of elderly patients. Nursing staff abrupt with no concern for patient welfare. My 87 year old father had an appointment for 12.00, we were told we could not wait with him as it was men only area, I asked roughly how long he would be, we were told to come back in two hours. Returned to department two hours later to find my father and another elderly gentleman still sitting there. The explanation from the rather rude nurse was that the theaters did not start until 1.30 and there were three other people before my father. We had no issues with there being other patients before my father but all their appointments were for 12.00. When I asked why his appointment was for 12.00, along with everone else when theaters did not start until 1.30, we were asked to leave again. We went off to get drinks for my father and the other elderly man that was still waiting and when we got back to gate 40 the door was locked. Ringing the bell over and over brought no one, a Dr came to enter and he let us in. The rude nurse brought out an abrupt Sister to us, I tried to explain that his mobility was not good and that sitting all that time did not help, the Sister said we are taking him now and as he tried to stand he fell backwards, I tried to tell her he was unstable on his feet and her attitude was disgusting. We were told not to go back to the department until they rang us, another 2 hours. As a family we will never again take our father to that hospital, at 87 years old, worked all his life, he deserves better. Filthy, more likely to come out with more than you went in with

The ambulance staff was amazing! I was admitted to hospital due to a laceration to my arm and lost about a cup and half of blood. Got to the hospital and there was no checks in place, they didn`t check my womb, they gave me some pain killers without even asking if ive taken anything prior, they never even asked about my mental state or if im suicidal.. The nurse in charge had a go at me because I was bleeding heavily in the waiting room and he didn`t want me to contaminate the chairs.. The other nurse, sighed at me and i asked him if he was fed up of me and he said "yes.." Edit - I even got penalised and criticised because I couldn`t remember my allergies off hand, im not a doctor nor a gp, I don`t know.. Anyways im shocked of the lack of care that was given. I even sat on the floor due to lack of chairs and not 1 person came to ask if I was ok. The patients cared alot more about me than the staff its self. I gotta give a shout out to the woman that was catering, she was lovely, she offered me a drink and she was the only 1 outa all of the staff, cared.. Anyways spend 3 mins with the crysis team and got discharged.. I had little clothing on and they was more than happy for me to go walk 3 miles, covered in blood, in the rain and cold.. I will not and repeat will not to go to pinderfields ever again.. Utterly discusting place.. This is what my tax payments are going to?.. Gunna work a few hours less at work and sit under the bracket me thinks..

I’m not sure where to begin with this review. My whole experience during pregnancy and my birth on 12/11/2025, being induced, and everything that followed has been incredible. Every single midwife, nurse, doctor, assistant, surgeon, and everyone on Postpartum Care Ward 18 showed such kindness and support. I will never get over how caring they were, how much advice they gave, the options they offered, and the comfort they provided on the scariest day of my life. After 12 hours on the drip with very little progress, it was recommended that I have a C-section. We were really worried, but they allowed me to play some music and meditation, and it became the most beautiful moment of my life — one I will never forget. I cannot thank these incredible surgeons enough. The NHS often gets a bad reputation, and of course there is good and bad everywhere, but these doctors could easily move abroad, earn double the salary, or work in private hospitals. Instead, they choose to work for our NHS, serving our society and giving everything they have. I stayed around six days after giving birth due to extreme pain, and every doctor and consultant listened, advised, and cared with compassion. I cannot express in words the emotions I felt during this time. I am now home and still crying because of how lucky we are to have the NHS. The maternity and postpartum care teams were exceptional. The nurses were so kind, helping me learn to breastfeed while I was in huge physical and mental pain. Their support meant everything, and I simply cannot thank them enough. These are some of the most wholesome, caring staff and people I have ever met. I wrote a list of the doctors, nurses, and staff I remember (the gas and air definitely took me to another world, so apologies if your name isn’t here — your face is still in my mind). As soon as I am well enough, I will be making cakes and treats for all of you — probably in January — because you deserve so much. Staff I remember: • Emma – Midwife • Amy – Midwife • Georgina • Chloe (x2) • Courtney •. Midwife’s in ward 18 was all amazing • Hannah • Emma – Surgery • Dr. Alex – • Lovely lady who assisted with my C- section • Another Dr. Alex – C-section surgeon • Dr. Abi • Dr. Ashraff • Dr. Inez • “Small doctor, pretty lady” (sorry I don’t remember the name!) • Rachel – Anaesthetist • The whole anaesthetist team who helped support and find the issues with my back pain. • Xray and scan staff 🤍
