We had a Good experience over the Festive Period. The Rooms were Spacious & Comfortable. The Staff were happy with anything we requested or needed help with. Parking is very limited. Butbif you can get a space. It's £7.50 for overnight Parking. The Breakfast included with the Room was really nice in the morning too. We would definitely stop there again.
Really nice, fresh comfortable room. Fantastic location 2 minutes walk from all the bars and shops. The breakfast was really nice with cereals, fruit and full English available. This was a buffet service and you have to book a time slot for breakfast as it's only small. My only complaint about the breakfast was the coffee machine was broken but I made so with fresh fruit juice and a tea.
Our experience at this Holiday Inn Express was absolutely shocking. We had a confirmed booking, including a request for an accessible room for a disabled guest. When we arrived, we were told the booking had been changed without explanation — leaving one of our party with nowhere to sleep. The staff member on duty, Patrick, was not only completely unhelpful but also displayed an appalling attitude. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, he coldly told us there was “nothing he could do” and suggested we either find somewhere else at 12:30 a.m., or sleep on the floor or in the car. His behaviour was dismissive, rude, and, disturbingly, racially insensitive. The way he spoke to us made it clear there was bias involved — something no guest should ever have to experience, especially from a brand as well-known as Holiday Inn. We had to insist on a number of occasions for Patrick to contact the nearby Holiday Inn, which he eventually did, and surprisingly, they advised they had no rooms until we notified them they are showing as available on Booking.com. They then advised it would be £110 per room, so for a fault by Holiday Inn Express not only has our booking been amended without notifying us we were also going to be out of pocket. We declined the rooms as I was not willing to pay nearly 50% more per room and Patrick was not willing to ask them to price match the rate we had pre- booked. We were left humiliated, upset, and forced to cancel our rooms and find accommodation elsewhere in the middle of the night with a disabled and pregnant family members. This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had with any hotel. Patrick’s conduct was unacceptable, and Holiday Inn should take immediate action to ensure no other guests are treated this way again.
Room fine Staff very helpful Breakfasts good Problem regulating heating in own room...I kept finding temperature boosted to 26 or 28 degrees and not possible to turn down in room. Lots of drunken people first night coming in at all hours and making a lot of noise. After that was ok. Town centre location probably attracts party goers.
Stayed for Katie Spencer gig in nearby pub, nice clean comfortable room with great shower. Also blue night light to guide you to the loo.... Especially after to many pints🍺 in the gig. Good buffet breakfast lots of choice...more than one coffee machine would help at busy times
