Walk Description

From Dent take the excellent track from Whernside Manor to the well named Boot in the Wold sheepfold. Then climb steeply on open mountainside on a faint path past 3 of the most attractive tarns in England.

It is a wonderful place and you will probably be on your own whilst the crowds take the more popular climb from Ribblehead. From the tarns it is an easy climb to the summit of Whernside with its wonderful 360 degree views. To descend back to Dent go north west into the pretty valleys of Kingsdale and Deepdale along with its waterfalls.

The level of this walk is challenging.
