Father’s Day
It’s Father’s Day on Sunday 18th June in the UK, and there’s still time to book a getaway in beautiful Yorkshire.
For the outdoorsy action heroes, there’s mountain biking in Dalby Forest – accommodation available at High Dalby House (includes cooked breakfast), Heron Cottage (ground floor with pizza oven) and Kingfisher Cottage (also ground floor with pizza oven). There’s also gorge walking at How Stean Gorge – lodges with hot tubs available.
For those who fancy a more sedate pace, why not cruise along the waterways, with canal boats which sleep up to 8. Take in the landscape and relax – no licence required.
Heritage
Tennis fans can trace the history of one of the early sport’s pioneers – John Thorneycroft Hartley, who shuttled between Thirsk Station and the tournament to win consecutive titles.
