Before we had arrived home the wiring had begun to melt. A great deal of acrid smoke and electrics no longer working. Had to be recovered. They collected the car and "fixed" it. This journey/farce was repeated a further three times. Same problem on each occasion. Instead of rewiring they simply bodged, doing the least amount of work James felt was necessary. Each time their expressions weren't apologetic at all. Felt as if we were somehow thought to be the cause of the problem. In fairness the sparky was very nice and really knew his stuff. Hamstrung by his boss though, being a money grabbing tightwad. Several months later we had to send the dynamo away for rebuild. Typical old banger/shed. The wiring in the rest of the car was found to contain around 30% house wiring. My advice, avoid dealers like the plague but if you really must, don't make it this one!

I have bought many cars from James and his team over the years and have always found them great to deal with as they are knowledgable, efficient and more than fair. I have not previously left them a review but their exceptional work on my recent VW Karmann Ghia deserves praise, not only the service provided from James and his team, but also the trim shop as they were simply outstanding!! Really great place. I stopped in for a nosy on my way past and was greeted by a chap with a smile. Nice chat about the cars in stock and an offer of tea or coffee. Will certainly be back and would definitely buy from them. Nothing in stock that wasn’t extremely well turned out, great collection of classics for people who know what they’re looking for.

Purchased a stunning 1988 R107 420SL from James at the Classic & Sportscar Centre. We had a great experience with James and the team. Super friendly, honest and really good advice throughout with speedy responses. Logistically there was a lot involved with the sale but nothing was too much trouble. Rather than having the car delivered, we travelled up to Malton to view and purchase the car. The condition was superb and the car was as described. James was very accommodating, picking us up from the station, taking the car out for a test drive, and letting us take all the time we needed. One small minor issue we noticed with some chrome trim was sorted immediately by his body shop team at Malton Coachworks whilst we were there. We had a good drive back but did notice some intermittent issues certain speeds and also some hunting when idling after we had returned home. Many dealers would shirk responsibility, but James was quick to respond to the problems. He had the choice of picking the car up on transporter and taken back to Yorkshire but instead arranged for the car to be seen by a local classic car specialist closer to home in Bucks. The bills for the rectification work were picked up by Classic & Sportcar Centre. Car is now running beautifully and looks fabulous. Excellent customer service and will be looking to buy from CSC again in the future. Special shout out to Jack @ Malton Coachworks for fantastic customer service and comms.

I contacted this company last month as on their website they offered a service to sell classic cars and were a local business. I rang them and was asked to email details and photos of my car and was promised a call back from their sales people. A week later and I had still heard nothing so I phoned again and was promised a call back...again, nothing. If you're not interested in my business, then at least have the decency to let me know... it's basic customer service. I don't appreciate having my time wasted and hope other customers don't fall foul of the same bad experience.
