Our family has a lot of fond memories of this building from when it was a vibrant and much-loved Italian restaurant, so visiting again today felt quite special. It was genuinely great to see the place brought back to life, and Wetherspoons has done a magnificent job in restoring and repurposing the building while still respecting its character. They’ve really done the old establishment proud. From the moment we arrived, the staff in the pub were welcoming, friendly, and clearly working hard. Their positive attitude and efficiency went a long way in making our visit enjoyable, and it’s clear they care about providing good service. We visited for breakfast, and while the food itself was enjoyable in terms of flavour, there was unfortunately an issue with temperature. Two out of the three breakfasts we ordered arrived cold, which was disappointing and took away slightly from the overall experience. That said, the meals were still pleasant enough, and this felt more like a minor operational issue than a reflection of poor quality. On a more positive note, the unlimited Lavazza coffee for £1.70 was excellent value for money and very welcome, especially given the chilly breakfasts. It certainly helped warm us up and added to the overall experience. Overall, this was a nostalgic visit made mostly positive by the atmosphere, restoration of the building, and the hard-working staff. With a little more attention to food temperature, this would have been an excellent breakfast visit, and we would happily return.

Great xmas eve visit. Staff v v v hard working but always polite and with a smile. Vvv busy but orderly and great atmosphere. 2 beans on toast and 2 glasses of Prosecco. £13. Wow. Amazing quality and value. Toilets are spotless and v impressive. Open passe kitchen. A good addition to Wetherby. To some extent it does lack the cosiness of some other local pubs but I guess that's the point..... it serves it's own purpose as somewhere that can seat a huge nunber of people, all served from orders made using the app or Qr code at the table. We like it a lot.

As others have said, this is a relatively new pub, open around a month at the time of our visit (Jan 2026) - hence 4/5 stars for service as staff (very pleasant and helpful) are still finding their feet, often wandering around looking for table numbers. Like the rest of the chain, food and drink is to a good standard and exceptionally good value. The venue is clean and tidy, adopting horse racing theme from the nearby course. Parking is tight / payable in the area but not unreasonable, effectively free if you are doing a quick supermarket shop (nearby) and can squeeze in a quick visit. I highly recommend using the App to order drinks and food. Please give me a thumbs up if this was useful 👍

Just less than a month old and immediately on entering you know you're in Wetherspoons. Great location on High Street and next to Horsefair shopping area. Food was as I expected. I loved the southern fried chicken burger with a side salad. All the drinks you would expect but at the out of city price. Bar looks really good with lots of seating. Accessible wc looks really good and has room to manoeuvre a wheelchair easily. Even on a late afternoon the place was busy but staff coped admirably with table orders within a couple of minutes. An overall great addition to their portfolio.

Absolute carnage today. Walked in, eventually found a table. Dirty pots everywhere. Ordered food using the app. There was a notice on the app advising food will be 39 minutes drinks 10 mins. All good so far. Empty cups arrived, went to find the hot drinks station to find the biggest queue ever. One machine out of order. At least 50 people queuing for hot drinks. After about 10 minutes my daughter rung me to say her food had arrived. I went to the bar and asked for a refund for the drinks. Staff member was really nice, he explained he doesn’t usually work in this Wetherspoon he has been drafted in, he offered replacement cold drinks which I accepted. Food arrived, my husbands breakfast was totally wrong, he ordered a large breakfast, received a small breakfast. He went to the kitchen and a staff member was arguing with another, she added additional food to his plate. I ordered an egg and cheese muffin with hash browns. My sandwich was very cold and the hash browns were missing. I’m a type 1 diabetic, I did my injection when my food arrived as per usual. The food was inedible. I took it back and spoke to a staff member, I tried explaining that I’m a type 1 and have had an injection but the staff member just didn’t get it at all, he certainly didn’t understand how important it was. I tried explaining what happens when u inject them you don’t eat but I got nowhere. He did ask me if I wanted another drink so I asked for a full fat coke. I went back to my table and after another 20 mins of waiting my husband went back to the bar and asked for a refund. This was promptly done. The front of house staff were really apologetic, I try wasn’t their fault. The girl working in the kitchen is a different matter, she wouldn’t listen, it was total chaos. When my husband tried explaining what was missing from his breakfast she bit his head off and retorted I do know what goes on a breakfast! Clearly she didn’t. There was loads and loads of food being returned to the kitchen all with missed off items or the wrong food being sent out. There were plates of untouched food piled up on every single surface including a trolley at the side. There was food on floors, spillages on floors it was chaos. More importantly the importance of the food being correct fora type 1 diabetic I cannot stress enough how dangerous this could have been. Staff certainly need education all they heard was the word diabetic, they had no clue what so ever.
