Terrible experience at the garage. I went to get my commercial vehicle MOT'd. I called up and explained what vehicle I had and booked it in. I had a call from them to inform me that it was a class 7 and they couldn't MOT it there and I can pick it up. I walked in to collect my vehicle and was told 'The keys are on the table'. No apology, barely any eye contact and an unnecsarily rude tone. It's a big inconvenience for my business as I had plans to use the vehicle and they didn't even care enought o apologise for not checking first. I'd avoid these like the plague and go to somewhere professional like Westmoreland Cars.
I contacted two different garages about an issue with my door handle and lock coming off. One garage told me it would be a big job that would require removing the entire door—and that they couldn’t do it for another six weeks. This made me feel it would also be an expensive job! Then I called Waudbuys. They simply asked me to stop by in the morning. I didn’t catch the name of the guy who helped me, but he came out, fixed it on the spot in under five minutes, and didn’t charge me a penny! It was such a relief to deal with an honest company that didn’t try to take advantage of a young woman. Thank you so much—you genuinely made my day! 😊
I took my car in for MOT and full service. When I drove away, 30 minutes later the oil engine light came on with a warning for me to stop and fill a litre of oil up as oil was below the lowest level. I called and asked what oil I needed to buy because I couldn't come back as I had patients to see. I was assured by the receptionist that the oil had been done and didn't need to do this and she didn't give me the oil type. She advised that the service test button wasn't reset on the last MOT and full service so that it was a fault with the dash board alerts and something to do with timings. I've never owned an automatic electronic dash board sort of car before so i took her word for it. She said swing by and one of the guys will reset it for you. I couldn't check manually on an oil stick as it's all under cover which is annoying. After two weeks of the warning coming on and the engine getting hot I swung by the garage in within this time to get it looked at but it was shut at hours I wasn't expecting. I finally caught them leaving early one day and they told me to come back in the morning.... I had checked the oil through the car's electronic system and it was practically empty.... They did sort it for me that next morning free of charge but I am so glad the car didn't die or the engine set fire, given I was up and down the motorway. I won't go back here because now I don't trust them to do their job. Imagine if you came to me as a nurse for a procedure and I only did some of it and left out an essential part that could cause you more harm. And I also won't be so naive next time now I understand my car better. I shouldn't have driven away on the day if my MOT and full service without the oil been corrected to start with.
Booked car in for MOT, was informed the car had failed due to emissions and the lambda censor had failed and needed to be replaced. At first the admin said they were short staffed and only had 2 workers in for the next 2 weeks due to sickness, even though we could clearly see at least 3 working that day, but then a guy came in and said they do not do lambda censors and it needs to be returned to the garage we bought it from, so they basically declined to fix the problem. We decided to take the car to two separate garages and both confirmed that the lambda censor was absolutely fine and it was in fact the catalytic converter. This is now the 3rd car we have owned that they have failed the MOT and refused to fix, I suspect they like to make their money pushing MOT’s and declining the work knowing customers won’t be able to return within the 10 days for a retest. One of the garages we took it to for the second opinion had 3 other customers who had MOT’s on the same day and Waudbys refused to fix them.
Mick and tram are great. Friendly, knowledgable and fair. Took my son’s car out for a diagnostic spin this morning …sound advice. Would not go anywhere else now 👍
