We visited today to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we were not disappointed. We started with the mushroom soup, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the tapas and the Mediterranean meat platter—everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. To wash it all down, we enjoyed some cold Cruzcampo beers which hit the spot! 🍺 The service was very professional and welcoming, making our celebration even more special. The atmosphere in the Lounge is brilliant, especially for a group of friends. Highly recommended if you are in Whitby! We will definitely be back. ⚓️🥩🍄

We have visited here twice this week (staying in Whitby for my birthday this week in January) what an absolutely wonderful experience we have received both times. Really quirky lovely decor, warm welcoming and attentive staff who made our visit so pleasurable. The food was tasty, well presented, we didn’t have to wait to long and it was delicious. Well priced. Lovely drinks and a really relaxing atmosphere, a real pleasure. Thankyou to all the staff who made our visit very special. It was my birthday on the Tuesday and they didn’t know but they made it extra special 😊 I know how hard it is working in hospitality, such hard working people and I appreciate you all very much!

The atmosphere is lovely — clean, fresh, with beautiful music that creates a welcoming vibe. The burger I ordered was genuinely delicious, and I could feel that the chefs put care into it. However, the menu itself feels overwhelming and unfocused. There are too many options: brunch, tapas, burgers, sandwiches, mains, flatbreads, puds — and all available at the same time. This can create confusion for guests and unnecessary pressure for the kitchen team. From a practical and business perspective, keeping such a wide variety of dishes fresh and well-prepared must be difficult and expensive. ⸻ This menu represents a mix of multiple cuisines and styles, which makes it difficult to maintain clear identity and operational efficiency: • 🇬🇧 British / Gastro Pub • 🇬🇷 Mediterranean / Middle Eastern • 🇪🇸 Spanish Tapas • 🇲🇾🇮🇳🇰🇷 Asian Influence • 🇺🇸 American • 🌱 Vegetarian/Vegan: Halloumi Burger, Bombay Cauliflower, Super Grain Salad - great part This wide variety means different types of prep, storage, cooking techniques and timing — from frying and grilling to wok cooking and brunch assembly. It also means more products to keep fresh, more complexity for chefs and a higher food cost for the business. Guests can easily feel lost in such a menu, just as I did. It lacks a clear culinary direction. ⸻ What can be good for your business and your chefs • Limit brunch to around 4 PM. • Introduce a separate, focused dinner menu. • Either simplify Tapas to a few starters or remove it entirely. • Keep sandwiches for the bar menu during the day. This will make the guest experience more clear, reduce stress for the chefs, help control food waste and build a stronger culinary identity. P.S. former Head Chef, currently Culinary Lecturer.

From our entrance to exit the service was truly fantastic. We all tried different burgers & we all commented on how good they were. Ordering is easy using the QR code on the table & our drinks & food arrived quickly. Nice to see a varied menu, also with gluten free options. Two of our party are wheelchair users & accessibility wise it was simple & accommodating. We would definitely return.

Very much like all the other Lounge restraunts. Food is consistent, nice decor and food was good. Nothing stands out and you have to order via the QR app, or go upto the bar. This takes it down a notch for me. The smash burger had good flavour but wasn't as moist as I feel it should be. Needed more burger sauce.
