Whitby Holiday Cottages

Edited review Aug 2025 We have just returned from our 4th visit to Cliff Top Cottage, booked through Whitby Holiday Cottages. Once again we had an absolutely fantastic week there, spotless as always and the owners are easily contactable if needed. Upon returning the keys, the lovely ladies in the office had lots of advice on which weeks are the best to book for events in the area and a recommendation for a local food festival. Thanks again, see you next time xx Have used Whitby Holiday Cottages for the last 3 years. Lovely staff, great comms and the cottage we book is amazing. The office has now moved next door with Astins estate agents so don't panic like I did when you go to collect your key and the door is locked 😂 Have already booked through them for next year 👍🏻 Recommended.

Never used this company before, and I will never be using this company again. Had our appartment booked nine months before arrival. When we arrived the place had not been cleaned at all. When we rang the office there were no apologies no sense of urgency or any empathy with our situation. The cleaner did arrive about 20 minutes later, and each blamed the other. so we left for 3 hours for it to be cleaned.( difficult on goth weekend) After complaining, I was made to feel like the culprit rather than the victim. I tried to ring the lady in charge but couldn't get to speak to her, but I did get an email with terms and conditions underlined in red🤫. Also you have to pick the keys up from the office, where they sell parking permits, which are usually ( not always) available in the accommodation for free. The whole thing spoiled our first few days away. We stay at whitby several times a year and have never encountered such terrible customer service.

Booked over a year ago, good correspondence up to date arrival. Got to the apartment, no cleaning had been done. Contacted Whitby Holiday Cottages and they said they no longer managed the property and were we sure we’d booked with them. 30 minutes before that we’d been the office to collect parking permits …. Slightly concerning. After a bit of backwards and forwarding they arranged for a cleaner to come out, which meant we were inconvenienced for 2 hours after our check in time. We had a couple of other issues, WiFi provider given by Whitby Holiday Cottages was incorrect, no iron ( description says there is) only due to the good nature of the cleaner did we finally get one. Other issues, broken plug in the bath so we can’t use it, fridge has no door compartment to store bottles, 2nd bedroom is a not a double, not even a double bed, it’s a 3/4 bed, no storage whatsoever in the room. Sinks in the bathroom take 10 minutes to drain. When trying to raise any point with Whitby Holiday Cottages they didn’t want to know and said any points needed raising with the owner as they were only booking agents and our contract was with the owner not them . As far as we’re concerned we paid Whitby Holiday Cottages so they should be accountable and we were not given any details of the actual owners. We won’t use this company again!

The ladies at Whitby Holiday Cottages were absolutely amazing sorting out my last minute booking in late December 2019. I can't fault the friendly service, they even made recommendations for lovely walks and places to eat near where I was saying (which were brilliant). Nothing was too much trouble for them and I felt truly looked after. The cottage I stayed in was stunning and brilliantly located. Can't wait to book again! Thank you so much!

Superb letting agents, Seamless booking process along with 5 star customer service, nothing too much trouble for the truly dedicated staff. Beautiful apartment and great value for money. Wouldn't use anyone else. As the Tina Turner song goes, 'Simply The Best' Further review - 08/01/2023 Another fantastic stay. 5 stars in every respect. Customer service out of this world, cannot give them enough praise. Already looking to rebook.
