China Lantern Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway

Staff were really lovely and helpful when choosing (it’s a big menu!) The food was piping hot and lovely flavours. There were seven of us and we all had a different meal and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Will be returning!

Very rude lady make me repeat my adress numerous then i process to say its ok thank you bye then she ask the post code and say its too far anyway proceed to end call without ending call properly can hear her speaking her language with someone.Not first time get to repeat my address because of my accent but never it has occured when i call an administrative office. Food sometimes oily and mistake sometimes Often delivery late and costly. Will learn to do everything myself for my little family ANYWAY TOO! Will not order anymore. A man asked to speak to me this morning Sunday before 9am unfortunately about my review at my door there is multiple cctv in the street. The man just left this is intimidation and will get legal advice about it. Edit: false allegations in response I do not recommend that place and do not wish further contact with them

This is an amazing find, in the Wombwell area of Barnsley. The food is amazing but it is the staff who make this an unforgettable experience, they really helped me choose what to try and I felt so welcome there, like home from home. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to one of my regular places. I also find it a very comfortable place to conduct my business and don't feel rushed. Very well done in providing the perfect customer experience.

We went to the opening night of china lantern and its been our go to chinese since, unfortunately last night we ordered sweat and sour chicken Hong Kong style and it was absolutely inedible! It was just tiny pieces of batter with no chicken whatsoever! They even mixed crispy shredded chicken into it to try and make it up! You could tell with the difference in colour what they had done! If the restaurant had run out of chicken they should have said so instead of trying to pass that off! I don't know if the restaurant has changed hands or not but but ours went straight in the bin, a total waste of money and we wont be ordering again from here! Unfortunately they have lost a loyal repeat customer
