Title: Unfair return policy and poor customer service – beware before buying I purchased a TP-Link router from this store, intending to use it with my cable internet provider. After testing, I found the device was not recognised by my ISP and therefore completely unusable for its intended purpose. This is a fairly common issue with coaxial cable providers, where compatibility isn’t guaranteed unless the router has modem functionality. Mine didn’t. I returned to the store just 3 days after purchase, with all original packaging, security seals, and accessories intact. Despite this, the staff refused to even inspect the product or listen to my explanation. I was told flatly that it couldn’t be returned because it had been “used”. Apparently, just opening the box and plugging it in to check compatibility counts as “use”, which is both unreasonable and legally questionable. I then contacted their customer service within the 14-day period protected under UK consumer law. Their response? Simply to “try another branch” – which makes no sense, as I bought it in-store and returned to the same store. Expecting a customer to go store-hopping to return an item is absurd, and shows a complete lack of accountability. I ended up keeping the router and now use it as a Wi-Fi repeater and with 4G mobile tethering, but that’s not what I bought it for. This store’s return policy seems to disregard the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which clearly states that if a product is not fit for its intended purpose, the customer is entitled to a refund even if it has been opened for reasonable testing. Avoid this shop if you value fair treatment and expect proper customer service. Once they’ve made the sale, you’re on your own.

I went ealier this morning to refund / Exchange an item which was broken. It wasn't broken due to poor treatment. It was broken due to the cheap plastic of the item, I went in and explained to the staff member what had happened, she then went to her manager to ask about it, following this i was told this item couldnt be refunded and accused me of damaging the item. Now for context the item was a headset which cost upwards of £120 as design you are meant to wear a headset at which I did and after a few months it snapped (the plastic strap) when placed on my head. I have complained to the company for poor quality but also feel argos could have offered me a refund or an exchange.

There's a running theme here... The manager there 'Claire' is absolutely awful, her attitude is appalling. Had a parcel delivered which she refused to release to me because her little computer said it wasn't on the system. Contacted the place I bought it from and evri both to tell me she should give it me with just proof of ID. Now my parcel is stuck there because she won't release it and obviously evri don't want to know. She seemed to get some amusement out of the fact she wouldn't let me have it. She must really hate her life to be as miserable and awful as she is. I will never ever be using Argos again if this is the level of management they employ, a terrible woman blatantly on a power trip!

Placed a click and collect order on Sunday went to collect only to be told they were closed as servers were down. Drove down there again today only to be told the same thing again. How annoying. Total waste of my time and fuel. Order cancelled and purchased somewhere else. Won't be using thus service again.

Been to collect a multi gym i have purchased from argos inside Sainsbury's at peaks and the staff in argos was so rude when I asked for help with the packages. They wouldn't assist me to even put the large boxes in the trolly. They must have thought I was having a laugh when I asked them if there was anyone to help me to the car. 3 women staff members stood there with there arms crossed and watched me struggle on my own. Totally disgusting for a professional customer service never mind just been a decent human being! Absolutely livid.
