One of the best campsites we have stayed on! Due to a long journey we arrived late on Thursday night (9pm), as we had selected the Self Check In Option the barrier opened for us and we found our pitch, the electricity had already been loaded onto the meter so this was really helpful. We had booked pitch 43 which was a Large Fully Serviced Pitch - this was beautifully kept with wooden fence surround and plants/bark border. The pitch was huge, we had our caravan, awning and tow car on the pitch and there was still plenty of space. This was one of the closest pitches to the toilet/shower block and I was a little nervous about potential noise of people walking too and from but I had no reason to worry as I barely heard anyone else for the 5 nights we stayed! The toilet & shower block was amazing too! Underfloor heating so no cold feet in these chilly months, sizeable rooms so I could take my two small children in with me and there was still plenty of space to wash and dress. There was also a big vanity mirror with hairdryers which was lovely to use. I took my children to the park which was well kept and plenty to do, a great range for older and younger children too. We tried the Cafe on the first day and this was lovely with reasonable prices. The location is also great, it was around a 15 minute drive to Scarborough sea front where we spent a lot of time, similar distance to Pickering for the train. We also spent a day in York which was around 45 minutes drive so still reasonably close! We will not hesitate to come back, the facilities, staff and location were all faultless. We have been looking for a site in the area to keep coming back too and we have definitely found it!
Loved this place. As soon as you drive in, it just feels nice. It's really well set up WITH ANPR in the gate in case you arrive a bit later and you have selected the self check in option, which involves you being pre-allocated your pitch and heading straight there upon arrival. As you drive through, the pitches seem a bit tight, but we had booked an extra large pitch in the adult only section and these were much bigger and much more spacious. Electricity is chargeable on this site and the self check in option has £10 pre-loaded onto the pitch. We used about a fiver a day in early October (and during Storm Amy) so that didn't seem too bad. The shower blocks are some of the best I have ever seen. Under floor heating, a separate changing area in each cubicle, decent water pressure and praise the gods, A PROPER TAP!!! I hate push button taps on showers so this was a blessing. The only suggestion I have for the showers would be bigger shower heads, but that really is nit picking. Other facilities include dog wash, bike wash, a café and a small shop. This really is one of the nicest sites I've visited in ages and as such we have booked to come back for a full week in April.
Absolutely love it here. This site is amazing and well worth staying at. The facilities have recently been refurbished, they are always clean and warm. Showers are fantastic. The site has its own shop and cafe. It has an adults only section and family section to chose from. Electric and water to your pitch. It’s always clean and the staff are friendly. You can easily visit Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering or Thornton Dale to see Derek at Matthewsons Auctions from the TV show Bangers and Cash. Great site 5 stars from me.
We stayed in a pod with a private bathroom at St Helens in the Park and had a fantastic experience. The pod was clean, cosy, and well-maintained — perfect for a peaceful countryside break. Having our own private bathroom just steps away was a huge bonus, adding comfort and convenience while still feeling connected to nature. The site was quiet, well-kept, and ideal for relaxing.
A caravan site with a lot going for it, location is fantastic close to the great Yorkshire coast and some fantastic Yorkshire countryside. Very clean and well kept. Disappointingly, the only pub within close walking distance is closed for refurbishment, still plenty of choice close by. I will definitely stay again. Staff are very helpful and on-site shop and café.
