Needs the grass cutting etc...looks untidy in places..mole hills are a pain generally looking worse for wear. I always weed round dads grave and try to make it look nice. I did have plants in but they have gone.
Came hear as my wife's family history is and she is trying to complete her family tree. The gent in the office on site leaves at 4.40 pm so get there early if you need assistance. He was extremely helpful in locating all the family graves that we wished to find. Of your disabled and have the blue badge you can make a phone call to arrange a time for you to take a car onto site.
Still a very pleasant cemetery but not as well managed as it was just a few years ago. It's absolutely appalling the toilet block is closed.
We travelled over an hour this morning to visit my twin brothers grave only to discover that the cemetery is closed in the morning to the public due to Covid-19. I was unable to wait the hour and a half till 12.30 as I had to be at work. These time alterations are not show on your website!! So a wasted journey. Apparently the logic is that the employees need to work in the morning and the public can visit in the afternoon. The outside environment of the cemetery does not need this kind of seperation to keep people safe, social distancing is very easy to maintain in this open environment. Crazy policy imposed by people who have not thought this through thoroughly. N.B. the gentleman employee on the gate was chatting to a group of approximately 6 ladies who were inside the cemetery. He then let them out. So why were they allowed in?
So heartbreaking to see how run down Fulford cemetery has become over the last 2 years, i went to visit my parents grave this weekend and couldn't believe how high the grass has been left to grow, it's a least 10" to 12" high big thick clumps of grass that hasn't been cut properly and left by the grass cutting machine which is all over the place, where is the respect for our loved ones?
